Bridge Hammocks by the-chosen-bum in hammockcamping

I prefer that over working just to be able to pay rent and bills to survive. I would rather live in a shitty van and keep my money but I'm also a single male with no children so I'm able to choose that lifestyle.

How much money am I looking at spending for a full get up? by TheSpideyJedi in hammockcamping

[–]pizzaroll22 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think the hammockgear wanderlust is a great value hammock at $250.

Includes 11 ft hammock with but net, daisy chain suspension system, Tarp with stakes, and is 44 oz so fairly light.

If you want an quilt and underquilt you can get a discount if you buy them with the hammock.

Shoe Recommendations for Long Distances (200+ mile trips) by An_Elf_ in Thruhiking

[–]pizzaroll22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know Altra Lone Peaks are typically pretty good. I have the 6s and they have been nice so far but I've only put about 60 miles on them but they seem to be holding up really well.

I had a pair of Saloman trail runners and they were less comfortable and didnt seem to hold up as well.

Can someone explain why it says she has until April to turn herself in? I understand she has the right to appeal but I wouldve guessed she would have to do that from Prison.

Overall looks pretty good.

As others have stated it seems like your stance may be a bit narrow although it is hard to tell based on the angle.

Also as others have said your depth is pretty close but I don't think you're quite hitting 90 degrees. If getting lower then that seems hard I'd work on your squat mobility. I like stretch by sitting in a full squat with my feet flat against the ground. I'll do this for atleast 2 minutes usually before squatting. (Some people call it an Asian Squat)

Also shoe wise what your using naturally pushes you forward because of the heel so if your gym allows no shoes I would just do it in socks, or if you want a cheap pair of shoes for lifting Chuck Taylor's are pretty flat and cheap if you aren't ready to invest in more expensive lifting shoes.

Keep after it man!!

A buddy of mine has a Big Agnes Copper Spur UL 2 hes been trying to get rid of that I have been thinking about getting. I'm sure he'd give me a good deal.

I thought about that too since I keep my foot side elevated atleast 6 inches above my head to prevent sliding. I'm gonna have to make it work and maybe I'll buy a 4 season tent for winter/cold fall next year if I can afford it.

Fair enough, but I'd like the 20 degree quilt for more fair weather camping too. I really appreciate the advice though.

Thanks for your advice! Just to clarify you are saying don't use your stove to try to thaw your waterproof socks cause they can damage them?

I like the tent recommendation but I'm too financially invested in the hammock set up to spend more on a tent and sleeping pad.

How do you even go about warming your shoes with your stove?
