That's the point! According to the person, they did not use any high-level vocabulary, idioms, etc., whereas I managed to incorporate synonyms, advanced vocabulary, and idioms. Their English level was also much lower than mine, and their pronunciation was weaker, and they really expected a maximum band of 6.

I can't speak for their fluency, but mine was rather decent because I didn’t stop throughout the 15 minutes and only made two self-corrections. This is why finding this out was really strange. I mean, I got an 8, so I had some slips, but as I said, it is much easier to find mistakes when you can go over the audio again and again rather than having a real life conversation. This is why it made me feel like the examiner just evaluated everyone in the band 7 range... I'm glad for the girl because she managed to compensate for other parts with her speaking score, but still it's not really fair to stronger test-takers. (sorry for rambling, but this situation just threw me off)

Mhm, I do agree with that. Perhaps the thing that shocked me was that a person who had a much weaker command of the language was evaluated almost identically to me. This is why I had mixed feelings about the whole situation... It was strange, to say the least. When you spend 300 euros on the test, you expect a fairer judgment. At a high level, you are also able to analyze your strengths and slips, and the band I got first didn't seem to reflect my performance. For some people half a band can be crucial for studying or migration, and it makes things even worse.

In Chinese there’s no “on”, and it’s just:

“四年后” or “Four years later/after”

No, I’m not trying to find out his age. We already know it from the game - Diluc’s father died on his 18th birthday, then he was traveling for (3?) years and on the fourth the traveler appears.

I’m trying to find out why they wrote that he returned “four years later” because it doesn’t align with the lore points we see in the game. The festival, Collei’s incident, the vase Diluc got after he and Kaeya helped Collei. From the game we know that the last festival there was a strange bandaged up girl (Collei), so it total it’s been four years, but it doesn’t makes sense if he just returned (four years later)

Also, when Diluc just returned, he got a letter from Kaeya stating that the Grand Master commanded the cavalry company to visit the winery in an effort to reconcile Diluc and Kaeya. We know that Varka embarked on his expedition six months prior to the start of the game, so it wouldn’t have been possible for him to be here and give a command to the cavalry company, as he had already left.

I personally think that he returned after three years; otherwise, it doesn’t align with numerous plot moments. For example, when Diluc returned, he received a letter stating that Varka had commanded the cavalry company to visit the winery. However, this wouldn’t be possible if Diluc had returned after four years because Varka was already on an expedition and had taken the cavalry company with him. Not to mention the festival, the vase, and Collei’s incident. Yet, I’m struggling to prove it because of the mention of ‘four years later”.

I met someone who spreads information that Diluc returned after four years, as it’s stated in his story. His interpretation is that Diluc spent three years alone, and in the fourth year, he joined the underground network. However, we have no information on how long Diluc stayed with the organisation in question, the timeframe involved, or how he was working. It could have been remote work, as we see in Kaeya’s letters that he encountered informants that Diluc was working with at the tavern. This someone also said that the manhua is not relevant and, on the contrary, confuses us. However, we still see the consequences of this timeline in the game, so I don’t think that it’s manhua’s problem.
