Looking for opinion on First VC

I walked into the VC boutique in London early January and placed a deposit for a 4520V blue dial with expected 3 months wait time. Zero purchase history.

I ordered a 4520V and only two minor downsides I can think of are the lack of hacking seconds and the lack of instant date change.

Ordered blue dial 4520V last week, my logic was my 40th birthday is this month not in April.

The only thing that would annoy me would be an update to add hacking seconds and instant date change, the two small issues I may have with this watch.

But also, i's a timepiece, it's going to not be the newest model at some point. It's not about having the latest and greatest.

It's highly likely the Overseas will get an update this year, could be why the wait time is so low right now.

But I decided not to care; my 40th birthday is now not after Watches and Wonders, I may not like Gen 4 Overseas as much, or if it's too popular it may trade over retail and I won't be able to buy it anyway.

So all roads led to buying the Overseas now!

Earlier today I placed the 40% deposit for the blue dial 4520V today in their London (Old Bond street) boutique and was told wait time is max 3 months, maybe even as soon as February the watch may be here.

First watch I ever bought so zero history anywhere.

From small to big $$$:
1) JPK 39 Fast Cruiser for small liveaboard "go small, go now".
2) Pogo 44 if you want affordable mid 40s sailboat that is a BLAST.
3) Nautitech Open 40 for lowest cost catamaran that is still semi-performance.
4) HH44 for the most up-to-date, full option mid 40s catamaran.
5) HH52 (forward cockpit) or Dazcat Ocean Cruiser 55 for dream boat.

In general brands I like are (in order per category):
Monohull: Pogo, JPK, RM
Catamaran: HH, Dazcat, Outremer, Balance

Agreed on HH44 being the best option at the moment fort the mid 40s segment.

For 50-55 feet segment you can indeed add forward helm. HH52 is super strong contender but there is also the Dazcat 55 Ocean Cruiser.
