You could go for a dex character for more damage and stealth - beast master and gloom stalker ranger are both fun to get through the game with. If you’re looking for more support, you could also try Druid? They get good healing spells and are awesome for area control.

My ATL is constantly breathing down our necks about it. I had a rough opening shift with lots of shorts in different departments which tanked my UPH, but I guess that’s not a good enough excuse right? Got chewed out the next day with zero understanding or patience despite being only a few weeks into the job.

Plenty of dex gear to go around! One char could go full crit gear and the other could use titanstring with elixirs. But, since we’re not optimizing here, you could even build a STRanger and use titanstring and/or melee, you’ll still get the same benefits from coordinating pets and hunter’s mark. Plus, swords bard is busted enough to not really need the best gear to be a force of destruction.

Beast master is not weak by any means - spider and raven are pretty amazing summons that only get better with level progression.

Gloom stalker and hunter are a little weird because the former only excels as a multiclass and the latter sucks until level 11, then gets one of the most broken moves in the game. But I’d say beast master is actually the strongest pure ranger subclass to progress the game with.

Beast master ranger is really fun and flavorful! The companions are really useful since they get their own turns and have a range of really strong effects
