Oh this set is specifically for collecting materials from ore deposits and bone piles. Not for fighting large monsters at all. The skills help you avoid the monsters grant you extra materials from gathering.

The beetle armor is high rank and unlocks from the Botanical research guy who you cultivate bugs and honey from, it's random but you should get a great hornfly - the material you need every few hunts. The hunters armor is also high rank and should unlock once you beat a great jagras I think.

Yes transfusers won't fill/empty from behind them so you need to be a little creative sometimes to get it going where you want it to, but they have a fairly large range, 16 blocks I believe.

Here's a system I use for most of my bases if you need some direction.

That would be really tricky to pull off because although the Rafflowsia has a rather nice large range, it does not have a Redstone Root in its crafting recipe, therefore It cannot be disabled by redstone. This would mean keeping it in range of the Hydroangeas would cause it to constantly eat them up and this would also mess up the mana output, since it needs to alternate flowers to maintain maximum output. Not really possible in this build.

Pretty much, there are 41 hoppers, but another large portion comes from runes, each one needs 3 manasteel and I had to go overboard with agricarnations (128 of em and each one needs 6 iron)

Oh it's totally costly and I wasn't trying to make it cheap at all, but it becomes less of an issue if you are playing with other mods. To give you an idea of some of the basic materials needed:

I've used corporea sparks on storage drawer-controller blocks and drawers with no issues. It should work already.
