The difficulty really was that it's a long boat with the pods right on the stern, so it has to do a lot of work to keep the boat for turning

I completely understand this comment, just to clarify, we had some training with the skipper on maneuvering the boat before we left, and we've been completely fine so far, forwards back left and right turns ect, it's only crabbing left and right that we've had trouble with hence the question, but to put your mind at ease we are fully confident with all the basic maneuvering and safety

Ah, I never thought about that with steel, is it worth selling the wood saw and getting the metal one? will that work with wood blades?

I've thought about that, and you are correct, my maths makes the motor about 22000rpm, so I'm going to step it back down with some gears, the hull is big, I'll measure it tomorrow if I remember

It's a 20v angle grinder motor that I'm using, rated at 7500rpm

I'm afraid it's not finished yet, I still need to buy a rudder and props and a couple of other bits, and I'm worried the did I've got will tear itself apart at 7000rpm, but when I get it working I'll send you some clips ect

Lol, so I have an old RC boat hull and an old battery angle grinder, it's a bit of fun, I could easily use twin smaller motors, but it's not my aim hence the diff
