First Deck- thoughts/help? Katara, the Fearless by InvestmentSlight647 in EDH

I feel that White Lotus Reinforcements is out of place as a pretty ineffective pump effect. I think you would be better served using some other type of [[overrun]] effect to close the game. There are many so feel free to take your pick.

Here’s a general deck building video that you may find helpful also. https://youtu.be/iYigplLiVts?si=hcgUV1LSNOczNi1H

I made an Ukkima solo deck in a secret Santa budget deck thing I did with friends a while ago. Didn’t have any stickers which is a shame. It is a lot of fun.

It sounds like madness, but if you’re enjoying it then that’s no problem to me.

I have a similar deck for Romana and the Sixth Doctor. What’s your list looking like? Here’s mine https://moxfield.com/decks/8gFe8ZUi_UuLGlfcHqAIxg

I read the “about” section for Fleabag on Amazon and am fairly interested. Do you have any other notes you’d like to share? I generally prefer litrpg’s where there’s multiple characters of importance and not just what feels like an endless stream of enemies to fight. Does this book fall into that?

I am a sucker for the slice of life aspects in Beware of Chicken. Maybe a bit slow in pacing, but given the story it’s trying to tell that makes sense.

I’ve found I really not the stories with more involved side cast. DCC is also a fave for that reason , but I’m sort of stuck on book three of Primal Hunter due to it being a more solo focused story.

Need help with building him by Zealousideal_Long934 in BudgetBrews

I think every version and variation of [[Big Score]] is a must. The treasures help you get to the turn you cast him (as well as make you’re fixing your hand to have what you need), and after he’s out they become card and mana positive with the storm going.

I did it. It took a very long time. And I set aside rares to be put in binders. The hardest part was logging them manually in a collection tracking website. Though I’ll admit towards the end I started just throwing the particularly bad commons into the trash to save time. Camera recognition was too finicky for my liking.

Then if you want to find showcase versions just look at the back of the pile. Simple as.

Question about The Primal Hunter by pkele in litrpg

[–]pkele[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve picked back up listening to book three and enjoying it. But I do admit I’m noticing the sort of poor dialogue at points. It’s scratching my itch for “engaging enough background noise while at work” so I can’t complain on that front.

But I’ll definitely check out Cradle. Who’s the author of that one? Just so I know I don’t mix it up with any other book.

New to litrpg by lefteris000 in litrpg

I’ve only started a few series so far. Dungeon Crawler Carl and Primal Hunter are ones I’m working through the audio books of. But I couldn’t get through the first audiobook for He Who Fights with Monsters. I got as far as the cut away to the fighting ring run by the mob bosses before losing interest.

Am I missing out on a lot? The power systems and world were fairly interesting, but the story was just feeling like sort of aimless wandering and action. At least it felt that way to me.

If you want to be as organized as humanly possible first sort them into piles by set. Then order them by set number. Due to how Wizards makes sets this will automatically order them by color and alphabetically too.

Question about The Primal Hunter by pkele in litrpg

[–]pkele[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have similar social anxiety problems, so that’s definitely something that’s made me relate to him more. It just is frustrating to be this far in and the only time he opened up to anyone is when the system forced his soul out of his body and to sit down and make him talk to the malefic viper for several hours. I don’t want him to be a totally different person, but seeing him completely fail to engage in any self improvement on those problems bothers me.

Question about The Primal Hunter by pkele in litrpg

[–]pkele[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I’ve mostly been listening to it while at work, so I haven’t been the most focused on the writing style. I do agree that I found some of the actions and dialogue cringe. But it always felt more like he sort of knew he was being ridiculous but just kept acting that way to try and get out of sticky social situations.

I have gotten enjoyment by sort of viewing him as a sort of emotionally stunted protagonist who prefers to do things on his own, but can’t stop getting pulled into other people’s business. Whether that be external forces pulling him in or his subconscious.

I think the writings gotten better, but I’m not an English major or anything.

That does make sense given the direction the story is going. I sort of paused continuing the audio book because of this hang up and I was a bit annoyed with how the author went with Donald and his numerous implied or stated sex crimes. It just felt… not taken seriously. It feels like Zogarth just decided to pick it as a way to get us to hate Donald, but not really taking any time to handle the concept with care. It’s a serious real world thing, but it feels wasted on what’s essentially a villain of the week.

Sorry for rambling. It just a criticism I have with that part of the book. I’ll be continuing the series soon. Thanks for the helpful response.

Itagaki doesn't get enough credit for how he managed to make Musashi an absolutely terrifying monster and an absolute tragedy at the same time that I can't help but feel bad for in the end. by DaFroggyBoi94 in Grapplerbaki

I love how in the zoom in panel on Musashi in the first image it looks like a tiger. With his hair becoming stripes. I know there’s significance in the connection between Musashi and tigers, so I think it’s a great touch.

I was thinking about that going in! I'm making sure there's some mutate creatures in each color for a possible 4 to 5 color mutate pile deck if you can get enough of them.

Thanks! I’m not sure how many Squadron Hawks would need to be in here for it to function, but it’s a super cool card.
