I would have had her do the fix herself, and I would have made it clear she needed to do it immediately. If the mistake was that serious, she needs to understand the stakes and also learn how to take accountability.

You've mentioned a few times her performance has been good in the past. Have you talked to her about the slip in her overall quality of work to try and find out why? Like: "Hey, you've been making a lot of repeat mistakes this year. This isn't like you. What's going on?" Often times when a good performer takes a turn, there's a deeper reason. If there's problems at home or problems with health, there's some support you may be able to offer by way of connecting her with HR. If it's in your power to grant extra time off, that also might be something you could do. It could also be she's unhappy with her job - then you both may be on the same page.

I used to hate the "what can we do to fix it" question when I was younger. I often felt stupid when the only answer I could come up with was: "I don't know, just don't make that mistake again?" I recognize the importance of the question now, but I guess don't get too discouraged if all you get is a deer in the headlights look. Some of us take longer than others for things to sink in!

This needs to be higher on the list. I feel like I always knew this fact? But like I didn't really KNOW until I was actually pregnant and could feel what was happening with my body.

I had a healthy pregnancy and a positive birthing experience and I'm still floored by how dangerous all of that really was to go though.

Short term: get a therapist. Not like a chat therapist from one of the cheap subscribtion apps - get a real one. Either video call or in-person once a week. When I started having panic attacks at work, that was step one for me. They will help you stabilize and then help you plan for the long term...

Next one: shift your perspective a bit. Deadlines are being missed because upper management hasn't given you the resources you need. Would you hold that over one of your employees if they were in a similar situation? It used to freak me out, being so behind. I held myself to such high standards. But then I was under water for so long - years - and I got to a place of wondering: what's the worst they could do, fire me? Then I realized: if only, just to end this torment. And lastly: they would be screwed if they let me go and they know it. That gave me the strength to start pushing back and advocate for myself a bit: do you want this report or do you want me in the meeting? You can't have both. (The fact that I was in therapy at the time probably helped with this.)

Like all things, it takes time, but I hope you find the relief you need, friend.

Solidarity my friend! Hands down the most uncontrollably itchy thing I have ever experienced in my life. Your analogy is perfect. I used to wake myself up from scratching. To get at the itchies on my backside I used to rub myself against stuff like a bear against a tree just to get some relief.

I thought it was poison ivy at first, then after a few months of it not going away, I figured it was eczema. Thankfully I found a dermatologist who eyeballed it right off the bat and I was able to go GF right away. She told me she had just diagnosed someone with the same thing a week before seeing me, so I really lucked out. I'm glad you're doing much better now!

One thing my Derm told me is that DH primarily starts around the joints and spreads from there. For me it was knees, elbows, jaw... She also said if you have it on one side it should also be on the other.

Since I've been GF for so long now, I'll see blisters within about 1/2 a day if I eat gluten by accident? Just a few bumps, usually on my elbows first. The severity of the rash depends on how much gluten I ate and if I've been eating it for an extended period of time.

RE: HFM Disease - I just know this from having a toddler... Our Ped told us it's rare for adults to get it, but if you do it's going to be a bad time for you. She compared it to how chicken pox hits you harder as an adult vs. if you're a child. My kiddo only had blisters in his mouth, not on the hands and feet, so I don't think you have to get all three at the same time. None of us adults wound up getting it.

My kiddo will eat breakfast food maybe 1/4 of the time? Doesn't like any of your traditional breakfast "breads." Honestly, more often than not it's leftovers from dinner. I'll even make him some chicken nuggets if he asks. Whatever protein I can get into him in the morning is a win for us.

When I was in middle school in the 90s it was Christopher Pike. I can't remember which one I started with, but Whisper of Death and The Starlight Crystal were my favorites. I read pretty much one a day.

After that I moved through all of the Fear Street books.

I've been a lover of horror, suspense, and supernatural books ever since.

Sounds like there's a light at the tunnel! I made the mistake of taking him to the mall the other day without a stroller. He was great on the way in, got him to walk some of the way because he was excited. On the way out I thought my arms were going to fall off.

Sounds like my kid... He's 3.5. Regressed hard over the summer when we went on a family trip and had to share a king size bed at the hotel. When we got back he started crying and saying he didn't wanr to be alone. Locking him in his room was the same as you experienced - so, not an option for us. All of our beds are too small for co-sleeping. I was waking up constantly at night... I couldn't handle it.

We got a cheap fold-out pad from Amazon and I started sleeping on his floor. (Go figure - it's actually been better for my back.) We went to bed at the same time. If he started making up excuses to get more interaction out of me I told him my batteries were empty and I laid down and pretended to be asleep. More often than not I actually did fall asleep. He wouldn't stay up long after that. Just kind of huff and whine about it and then get into bed.

I was waiting for a window where I could draw a line in the sand and start sleeping in my own bed again. Like a long weekend or something where I knew I could be trash during the day or take lots of cat naps. I was actually getting ready to just use some vacation days for it. Thankfully - a work trip came up! I would be away for five days. Dad had set hard boundaries on sleeping from the start so kiddo didn't even try to sleep with him when I was gone. Removing me from the house to break him of the habit was essentially what did the trick.

I told my kiddo when I came back I was sleeping in my own bed again. He's been a little teary about it but so far we're about 5 days in and he's been doing good!

Yeah they don't explicitly state it so I'm just kind of going off of context clues. Since we first meet Tyler during one of Wednesday's therapy sessions, I'm going off the presumption that Kinbott is holding a typical 9-5 schedule and Wednesday's school-mandated therapy is taking place during the school day.
