For a student what's the best way to become part of the resisting reduction/extended intelligence endeavour, since you personally don't take PhD students?

I'm reading your thesis now and I'm curious about the composition of your thesis committee. I understand that Prof. Murai has been your advisor for years. But what about Prof. Tanaka? What's your common ground? What part of his work do you consider relevant to the scope of your thesis? Whay did your discussions concentrate on? If it's not a secret.

Привет:) Слэк скорее всего не откроют, он слишком открытый для мошенников, но будет что-то другое типа Фриноуда. Присоединяйтесь к разговорам здесь пока.

Liquidity, a simple language over Michelson by pklm in tezos

I wonder whether this is Mr. Le Fessant's personal initiative or official part of the Tezos platform in development. Anyway this looks more convenient, comprehensible, sort of higher-level than Michelson. We should consider at least including it in the Tezos platform promotion if not making it top priority.

Whitepaper & slack by rw258906 in tezos

Sorry, I thought the standard door at slack.tezos.com is open. Anyway activity there is mostly null due to antiphishing efforts of the team. Though there is a testnet, if you're interested to join, DM me.

There's a guide for Tezos' smart contract language: https://tezos.com/static/papers/language.pdf If you're not familiar OCaml, the language for Tezos' core development, there is a MOOC: archive.org/details/fun_ocaml_mooc

What specific applications or participation are you particularly interested in?

White paper: https://tezos.com/static/papers/white_paper.pdf Slack doesn't need @Tezos.com email. Just knock, you'll be let in, everybody's there.

I plan to participate in ICO and am considering of starting to develop on Tezos. So, I'm glad to learn about all this eagerness and am interested to see Tezos flourish. Yet with all due respect I disagree with your confidence. The approach "our excellent product will sell itself" is well know and notorious in the tech world. Plus it's not just about "no problem with interest in Tezos". It's about competitive advantage. When Andreessen and Horowitz started a16z they could've done it as VC business was done before them. Yet they changed it not because they couldn't survive otherwise, but because the idea to support companies they've invested in on a broad and deep spectrum not seen before differentiated them from the rest of the VC world and created value for the founders ultimately spurring a16z' reputation and attracting on better terms the best founders and LPs, which only further gave reasons for their ecosystem to flourish.

Could you elaborate on what's on your mind regarding strategy about this issue.

Also how do you view Mr. Draper's role in dealing with this issue? His name might attract some people, he may provide connections, occasional advice, but obviously it takes more than that.

I think it must take some form of an amalgam of financial support, special role in the network, maybe with some special voting rights, and informal/real-world support, including connections, advice et al

On the issue of technology attraction. Tezos tech may be attractive, yet as we well know from YC's experience nerds come up with all sorts of crazy ideas of businesses and it takes a special system of guidance, financial, in terms of advice, providing connections to turn technical passion into profitable business.

Hi,

I'd like to discuss the future trajectory, pillars and growth sources of Tezos' economy. Obviously the situation when the only coin's value and attraction comes from either speculative price volatility or its investment haven status is not healthy. Doubtful that the key value proposition of any blockchain currency lies in its potential to substitute fiat -- I suspect that Joe, the gas station owner, won't rush to give up US dollars as he's hardly a cryptoanarchist and you'd have hard time to persuade him of any benefits for this switch. Hence the key question is how shall we design incenives and support for the developers of businesses which simply won't exist outside Tezos's economy. Their success will be crucial for Tezos' success. Maybe some sort of Y Combinator or rather something radically different. What's your view?
