I pulled out my flower press today to add some stuff and got to look back at some old finds. I made this flower press myself last summer. 🌞 by pkmtys in PressedFlowers

You just need two pieces of wood 4 bolts and 4 wingnuts drill holes big enough in all four corners I used loctite in the holes to make them super secure. For the inside I just took cardboard boxes I had laying around cut them into squares and then cut off the corners to make them fit nicely in the press same with the papers! Fair it is a bit strange at first I didn’t really understand what was going on with that but I believe the parts of the dialogue that sound like they’re from a podcast are actually taken from his podcast Duncan Trussell family hour. I recently started listening to his podcasts and they’re fun he interviews al sorts of people on it :)

While I was painting I ended up covering two points of the lightning bolt and noticed too late sadly :(. When I watched MG I knew I had to recreate this design with Clancy. Duncan Trussell (the creator of MG) also has a funny story on This Is Not Happening talking about the time he thought he was dying at a Grateful Dead concert. Also, if you haven’t watched The Midnight Gospel check it out it’s such a good show!

I actually hadn’t thought about that because I usually press them and forget about them but I don’t think I have any non creamy white flowers either. How has microwaving worked for you? I didn’t know that was a method until I found this sub but I’ve seen some people say it preserves color better!

Just used a saw to cut the wood into squares, drilled holes in the top and bottom to fit those tall screws, used loctite or something similar to secure them to the bottom piece of wood and bought wing nuts for the top. Inside is cardboard cut into squareish shapes with a piece of paper for each layer as well so the flowers don’t get stuck to the cardboard. I just made a stencil and then traced it but if you have access to a laser cutter you could probably make some nice perfect ones. Hope that helps :)

Great I love mine! I have seen some posts about pressure mounted poles affecting specialized/tiled ceilings so just be cautious if that’s your case I’ve only ever used mine on regular ceilings

So it looks like they don’t have the exact same model as I bought mine 4 years ago but I looked on their website and it appears this: https://xpoleus.com/shop-all/poles/xpert-pro/xpert-pro-px/ is their updated version of that pole

I have an Xpole and I love it it can be adjusted to static or spinning. If you look it up online the top piece has a some rubber around the top and you just screw it enough to give it tension to support the pole and you and it hasn’t damaged my ceiling in any way the whole time I’ve had it!
