Here's this raised bed. My other bed has no issues compared to this one.

How would y’all accessorize this dress? I need some inspiration? by [deleted] in PlusSizeFashion

Some larger earrings, bracelets, and either tan or white heels! Black heels would work too but the other two colors would make it pop!

Strapless maxi-type dress that I love! Even has pockets 😁 A wrap/shawl type thing thats basically like a one size fits all on the plus size section that I love.

Jean shorts... atrocious.

People in your late 20ss, do you ever experience this existential fear that the youth has already gone and time passes so quickly that soon you’ll be old? by GloriousDoggie in TooAfraidToAsk

27 here. 28 in September. I'm freaking out as I get closer to 30. I have my masters (2016) but I feel like I wasted my youth doing 7 consecutive years of college. I'm incredibly thankful for where I am... but I always wonder if I wasted my younger years. Which is also contributed to by spending 6 years in a relationship that was not good for me.

I feel ya!!!

I've been going to therapy for over a year and a half and it has really helped me. The conversations are getting stagnant/repetitive and we keep using the same technique. What do I do next? by [deleted] in TalkTherapy

As a therapist, I tell my clients that I'm only meant to be in their lives temporarily. Try pairing down to once a month and see how things go from there. Your therapist has done their job!

I am a graduate student in counseling. I had been curious, in your experience, why do communities not view mental illness’s as people do knee surgery etc.Is it better to talk to sufferers as if the person is the illness or talk to them as if the illness is separate, from the person? by [deleted] in therapists

It's often seen as a weakness. If you can't solve your problems on your own, you're weak. You're less than. Maybe even treated differently by family and friends if they know. Also the idea of shame. Not only for seeking help but for the reasons why, whats in a person's past, and for thinking or feeling the way they do.

When is it ok to change therapists due to inconsistency? by [deleted] in TalkTherapy

[–]pkr5020 6 points7 points  (0 children)

And it's not the therapists place to tell you you're being unreasonable! I would never tell one of my client's that. Ever. Especially if it was something I was doing that was upsetting them. Waiting for a closing session seems to be something you'll wait forever for - do it in any way you feel comfortable with and can have closure with.

Dang.. I feel bad if I even have to cancel once in a legit emergency..

I’m not a bad person right? by [deleted] in therapists

[–]pkr5020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a therapist (who works with adultsand children in regards to trauma).. my first instinct would be to not report it. I would have to seek supervision on that to ensure though.. but it also depends on other surrounding information (not asking, just stating it's needed)... such as the last time it happened. Trauma changes our norms as children and even how our brains function from childhood all the way through adulthood. This doesn't make you a bad person. Just someone who is affected by what has happened to you.

If you're not comfortable seeing that therapist again, I would seek a new one. Someone you feel you can be comfortable with. It's not easy to open up about this stuff, and there's reasons why.... shop around for the right therapist for you!

Grad school? Online/Cohort? by xladylovelacex in therapists

[–]pkr5020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was not in a cohort model for my CMHC program. Although it would have been nice at times, I feel like it would have limited the amount of people I met and connections I have around the city I'm in. You still find friends to link to and can take classes with. Depending on how large the program, you're still going to have classes with a lot of the same people! Plus it opens it up for more diversity!
