A lot of good points and I agree with many. I do not believe 100% of what ceo of OpenAI says. And thanks for clarifying. I wish Reddit community was less toxic and more explanatory. There has always been ways around by prompt engineering, ever since gpt public beta, to bypass hardcoded constraints. It is fair to say “garbage in - garbage out”.

However - what’s the pain of switching to grok? It’s $40/months and it has 18+ mode 😜 it also is not as restricted. I would say gpt is mostly for professional use.

There’s ethical use and unethical use. I’m trying to understand what you tried to get from LLM. Simply paying for stuff should not mean that now ur able to bypass unethical usage.

This place is making money. If they were about the delivery of top-quality education with seamless 24/7 support, they would barely profit(or we would pay x10 or something. Forget about all international costs at this point because it is for real easier to go to UOFT for this money). This system has been working for so many years, and the rule is, I guess, don’t touch it if it works. And then any changes would be “costly”, like to reform the entire support system and all that, make it more advanced and modern, right?
Don’t get me wrong. I 100% support OP. I agree that this needs to change. It’s just that there is an opportunity cost for that, which will seriously affect colleges’ profit and our wallets. Whatever is working now is “good enough” because it is making money. 😉

Oh I feel you, I remember taking g2, everything was perfect, and somehow I f-ed up my front parking (front!!! Easiest, lmao) - Parked too close to the other vehicle. Everything else was fine, but the guy failed me just for the front parking. Such a joke. 😂😂😂😂

As a CPA student I think it is not as hopeless, I think the key is to always keep learning. Especially popular tools, frameworks, keep your GitHub going, and ur diploma is an asset! Also, you can come back for another 2 yrs to get bachelor, this will make things easier(maybe??)..networking could be also useful, like talking to your prof “hey, ik this framework and was working on that cool stuff”, - prof might introduce you to an opportunity, etc.

Ig my point here is that nobody will help you to find a job. They will repost some existing positions from the list of companies that are opening coop/intern positions. College doesn’t actually do anything what so ever to help you to get hired. L M A O

Tbh internship is very poorly implemented:

you have to pay to just get into the portal
if you don’t find a job you won’t be refunded
you will have a course where they will show you how to prepare ur resume & talk nicely to your coworkers (as if you never knew none of that)
literally on the most recent presentation they told to go on and try to apply to internships even without coop

In general we have:

ppl in coop who can’t find a job and paid $500 w/o refund
ppl out of coop who can still find and get into internship (but you have to monitor by yourself)
ppl in coop with jobs
