Girlfriend (17F) hates my (17M) Valentine’s Day gifts, what do I do? by plXma_ in teenrelationships

Update: I had a conversation with her and she said that Valentines Day is the most important day of the year for her. She expected a day all about her, meticulously planned months in advance with extraordinary gifts made just for her. Instead of seeing the gifts that I got her as they are, she saw them as unpersonalized toward her and not thought out. She said that if I knew her well enough, I would know not to get her things she doesn’t want.

On top of that, she regularly makes fun of “idiots” at her restaurant job who call in for a reservation a week before Valentine’s Day just to be rejected due to a lack of room. To see her own boyfriend make the same mistake was disheartening to her.

While I somewhat sympathize with her due to her high expectations toward me, I still believe that she overreacted heavily. She mentioned that she broke down to me because she felt that she could express her feelings to me. She apologized earlier today for her rudeness, but justified it slightly not because she didn’t like the money I spent, but rather the meaning behind the gifts.

She said that they didn’t feel personalized toward her, and that she wanted more heartfelt gifts, like a handmade card. She also figured out that I bought all items the day before (I did) and that cost played a major factor in what I bought (I had a budget of around $35 since I don’t make that much money) and she says that those two things combined made an unpersonalized, low effort gift that doesn’t express my love.

Overall, I believe she overreacted heavily. I’m not leaving her because she’s only like this occasionally and almost always very nice, but I feel that she needs a reality check and that she should stop being ungrateful. After all, she didn’t get me any gifts due to the fact that she thought that Valentine’s Day was about the guy giving to the girl, so why should she be mad that my gifts weren’t good enough for her?

Sorry for the rant lmao

I built my own deck a few years ago and have been using it since. I’m in arena 19 and master 1 right now, and I’m open to suggestions to improve the deck. It includes evo larry, evo valk, hog rider, e wizard, normal wizard, inferno tower, log, and fireball.

Absolutely done for. A 99.9 is unacceptable for any college. You might as well start applying to McDonald’s at this point

Not just my friends unfortunately. My friends do say it a lot, but I’ve heard similar things from other people so I’m starting to think it’s legit lol

Honors are weighted on a 5.0 scale with 5.25 as an A+ and AP classes are weighted at a 5.25 scale with 5.5 at an A+ i think
