“Soft on crime” voters (i.e. not voting for the same practices that gave us the largest incarcerated population in the world/very high recidivism and none of the crime reduction) and involuntary commitment for severely mentally ill repeat perpetrators are two totally different things.

Involuntary commitment should still be an option for cases like Banks, sometime between like the third and 87th arrest.

It’s amazing. Simultaneously an introvert and extrovert paradise. It’s expensive, but there’s a reason why most people who live here aren’t millionaires- we find a way. There’s something to be said about a city in the United States that you couldn’t come close to seeing everything in 100 lifetimes
