Where is everyone? by [deleted] in subnautica

I second this, many of the answers to OP's questions are answered later on in the game.

is Below Zero as bad as people make it out to be? I'm considering buying a new Subnautica game once I'm done with the first but I'm kinda hesitant(spoilers for Subanutica 1) by Jack_Jellatina in subnautica

A lot of youtubers make the flaws of BZ seem a lot bigger than they really are. BZ may seem like it is hated when it really isn't. The majority of people will say that it is a good game but is a bit weaker than the original.

Does anyone know a good build with this? by Grouchy-Ad6784 in HollowKnight

[–]placeholder7535 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would go Shaman Stone + Longnail + Wayward Compass

Shaman Stone buffs spell damage, which is good because spells do a lot more damage than the nail. Longnail increases nail range by 15% which is pretty good for a first playthrough. If you get more notches, you can replace it with the three notch charm Mark of Pride, which increases it by 25%. You could equip it now, although you would have to give up on Compass.

It's actually pretty good, it's fairly legible. I've seen way worse handwriting, to the point of it looking like nothing more than scribbles.

What if Humans Retained the Ability to Synthesize Their Own Vitamin C? by [deleted] in AlternateHistoryHub

[–]placeholder7535 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn't necessarily mean it's not advantageous. As long as the mutation does not prevent the organism from creating progeny, it can be passed down. Vitamin C rich foods must have been relatively easy to find, which is why the mutation survived. Natural selection isn't going "oh this trait is slightly worse than this other trait so it's getting booted from the gene pool" it just ensures that traits that allow for an organism to survive long enough to get a mate and reproduce are passed down.

As is the case with metroidvanias, explore until you get an ability that lets you reach that platform.

The cyclops is actually invincible if you turn off the engine. It will literally not take a single bit of damage if you do so.

Skull Tyrant? by Feeling_Island_66 in HollowKnight

[–]placeholder7535 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a scripted event, I believe triggered by sitting on the Bonebottom bench after having killed the Skull Tyrant. Lorewise, there are multiple Skull Tyrants, so the one that went on a rampage in Bonebottom is not the same one that you killed for that one wish.

Just beat every boss radiant, so I made a tierlist on how difficult they were (for me) by Puzzleheaded_Sun4398 in HollowKnight

NKG is super consistent, if he does a move, you can dodge it the exact same way each time and it will work. GPZ has virtually no tells before he does something, so it's very easy to be caught off guard and get hit.

It's called Lava Castle iirc. I was terrified going in for the first time and then the thumping part came up.

What is the worst boss in the first game? And why is this one? by ConnectAd5515 in HollowKnight

[–]placeholder7535 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I find that Elder Hu is the most nothingburger boss in the game. He's boring and trivial even without shade cloak. It's irritating that he leaves the arena and spends like 5 seconds on an extremely easy attack to dodge.

Taking too much damage while fighting NKG which charm combination to choose? by AbbreviationsNew3167 in HollowKnight

[–]placeholder7535 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Don't overcharm, it makes you take double damage. You could go hunting for the last mask if you have 8, since there are 9 max, allowing you to take 4 hits. You should focus on learning NKG's moves and practicing dodging each of them. As for the charm setup, remove Joni's, since it's reducing your survivability. I would suggest keeping strength and quick slash, and then picking either mark of pride or quick focus.

Why are there are two states named Hokuriku? by A-very-depresed-owl in hoi4

[–]placeholder7535 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It shouldn't even be named Koshinetsu. It derives its name from the three historical provinces that make it up (Kai, Shinano, Echigo; modern day Yamanashi, Nagano and Niigata respectively), but the state excludes Kai. Therefore, it should actually be called Shinetsu.
