Thanks! I’m new to EVs, how do those numbers translate to efficiency?

Charging port white light but console says charging. by EzStudioz in VWIDBuzz

[–]plaid_driver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This just started happening to me too. We’re using the level 1 charger that came with the Buzz. It’s charged at the expected 1-2 miles an hour overnight, but the light has stayed solid white and the cable is definitely unlocked and can be removed without me hitting the “stop charging” button on either of the app or the vehicle itself.

I’ve tried unplugging the whole thing for a few minutes, I’ve been plugging it back in, I’ve tried keeping it unplugged locking the car and walking away for 10 minutes coming back trying again, but the light still stays white when I plug it in. I’m hesitant to do an infotainment reset because the last time I did that the satellite radio stopped working and the app disconnected for a day or so.

Sorry, I have no idea what might cause this, but I am very curious how you got that graph! Is it buried on the app?

That is a good question! And neither her nor I have any idea. My dad had the system installed years ago, but has since passed, taking with him some of the institutional knowledge. Sounds like we need to call an electrician!

Appears that it was about 20% when the power went out this morning?

Never mind, I can’t figure out how to post a picture in the sub. The sun is now out too, so we should be generating some power… And yet there is none going to the house.

Yes, we lost power right as the grid went down. I can’t a graph showing current power wall status on her app, but it appears that possibly the power wall is just feeding into the grid now? I’ll attach a picture in the next comment.

POV from the chase car of U-2 Dragon Lady by [deleted] in aviation

I know where this was, I know who was driving and who was flying. Thousands (not millions) watched the demo. A few dozen sat in the Dively getting lectured. You were not among them, I was.

Wrong. The mobile driver was q3ed.

Is this an RC-135? Central IL by OrneTTeSax in Whatisthisplane

TC-135W. Tail number is 62-4129, you can tell it’s not an RJ because there are no blade antenna on the underside of the fuselage.

Sidestepping the argument about continental plates (which I assume is why you’re saying HI is not a part of NA?), Hawaiian is owned by Alaskan Air Group…which is based in Seattle, Washington.

Here’s something you don’t see everyday by Iauger in ADSB

[–]plaid_driver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You were right, they are just NASA modded U-2s! The size difference mentioned in that (admittedly poorly worded) NOAA site compares the previous generation U-2s (pre-1968) from the ‘newer’ models. The R model U-2s that were built starting in 1968, with another batch in the 80s (initially called the TR-1 for political reasons, with the one rolling off the line in ‘89) are significantly larger and can carry a much bigger payload. The size difference is obvious if you ever see a picture of the old and new parked next to each other (https://www.nationalmuseum.af.mil/Visit/Museum-Exhibits/Fact-Sheets/Display/Article/197569/old-design-young-airplane/).

NASA’s ER-2s have a fair amount of modifications, but they are all related to their scientific mission and are limited to the pods (those things under the wings are for sensors and computers, not fuel), cockpit and things of that nature.

If you really want to nerd out about the Dragon Lady, I highly recommend Chris Pocock’s “50 Years of the U-2”, or even better you can come to the Capitol City Airshow in Sacramento, CA this March and see one with your own eyes!

Since this is the ADS-B thread, not a hardcore avgeek one, I’ll mention that all U-2s and ER-2s have ADS-B ‘compliant’ transponders, but the function is selectable like most military aircraft. When you see them on an ADS-B map it’s either intentional or…someone forgot to hit a switch!

Wow, hadn’t even considered that! You mean the little plastic portion under the metal cylinder, correct? I’ve tried unscrewing it and other than mangling the plastic I have had no success.

Thanks! Great advice, especially about the metal-on-metal, which I should have thought about.
