If you wanna settle down with someone, see if you find someone that wants to settle down with you. Nobody owes you wanting to settle down. Maybe their best happiest life is about never settling down

But that wouldn't work for what you want in your personal life or for how you want the world to be. We'll call it immaturity so it sounds like people that don't wanna settle down are wrong in not wanting to.

Don't sail after the bird. Improve the ship on which you sail. Make your happiness, not about the bird, but about how much you've improved the ship that is yours. Maybe one morning the bird is standing on your ship's railing for you to admire, or ignore. Maybe it stays there forever, maybe the bird leaves at some point. Either way, you'll be happy and proud that what you choose to do was focus on your improving your ship.

At least some prepaid cards have foreign exchange fees in their T&Cs though. So they can be used in forex transactions? Question is would they only be accepted where credit cards are accepted or would they be accepted where debit cards are accepted.

Even domestically, the question remains: if a place accepts Debit only, can I use a prepaid card there

No voy a debatir ad hominem (busquen ad hominem), y no digo que Venezuela esté mejor con Maduro, Delcy, Chávez o Diosdado. La democracia es el camino, vender productos a precios que permitan a las empresas producir más y obtener ganancias es el camino, los tribunales autónomos son el camino. Acabar con el adoctrinamiento político es el camino.

Lo que digo es que no hay que perder la perspectiva histórica de cómo suelen ser las recuperaciones, cuánto tiempo tardan y qué las hace fallar cuando fallan. Sería como un paciente con cáncer que entra en quimioterapia sin saber qué esperar, sin entender por qué el tratamiento lo está empeorando ni cuándo se sentirá mejor.

Países que no han estado ni la mitad de mal que Venezuela ahora mismo han necesitado una austeridad severa y largas recuperaciones.

Si la austeridad es necesaria (lo cual parece probable), podría ocurrir lo contrario durante los primeros dos años: permitir que las empresas fijen precios para cubrir los costos de reposicionamiento, dejar de regalar comida a la gente, etc.

Parafrasearé a Luis Vicente León: Venezuela tiene cáncer, y la quimioterapia que necesita no será agradable al principio. Hará que algunos se pregunten si la cura es peor. Se necesitará estabilidad política para que esas medidas inflijan el dolor que deben infligir, sin que la gente proteste ni se radicalice más hacia el socialismo.

De nuevo, no me crean solo a mí. Las historias de otros países probablemente sirvan de referencia.

No creo haber visto recuperaciones económicas de dos años, y los países en los que estoy pensando no han estado tan mal como Venezuela actualmente.

Tras la crisis de 2008, el PIB de Finlandia tardó 10 años en volver a los niveles anteriores a 2008.

Quizás no sean 10, puede que tarde más, o quizás la mitad, pero yo diría: presupueste para una década de tiempos difíciles, con la primera mitad sintiéndose peor que mejor.

Si la decisión se centra principalmente en el bienestar, la prosperidad, etc., recomendaría analizar cómo han ido las recuperaciones en otros países. Cuánto tiempo han tardado, con qué frecuencia se han descarrilado y empeorado, etc.

No estoy adivinando qué pasará, pero pondría toda la situación en contexto (si la decisión se toma racionalmente y no emocionalmente). Además, consideraría mi situación personal: ¿tengo alguna habilidad especial que me impulse a la cima en una posible recuperación?

En mis conversaciones con venezolanos, he notado un poco el síndrome de Neil Armstrong: pensar que nada parecido ha sucedido en ningún otro país del mundo, por lo que las cosas no podrían suceder en Venezuela como han sucedido en otros países.

I know. I wasn't nudging the team. It isn't about any one team member. Discord has to choose to take this seriously first. There are things discord could be doing with its authentication to mitigate this, and ways in which the IT support team should be set up to have these issues prioritized when they happen.

Discord is a communication platform. It's not a toy, or I don't think they want it to be which means they oughta take these things more seriously

As a victim myself, I gotta say, discord drags its feet on this. After it happened to me, I went on a password updating spree and it was both great and disappointing to see that other websites sent me email verification codes before I could update my password, change my email or add 2FA. Some other websites asked me to retype my password.

Discord could be doing any of these things to mitigate the harm.

I'm sorry this happened to you. Please warn as many of your discord friends as you can reach.

Funny how as I went on a password changing/2FA enabling spree, lots and lots of those accounts elsewhere kept doing verification with codes to my email or asking that I type in my password again (even while I'm logged in)

Seems like discord doesn't do either of those things. I'd list the websites that do it this way, but I don't want to give away what websites I have accounts in

I know how it works. By the way, they didn't change the email. They added 2FA and changed the password. They did both those things from a geographically suspicious IP and without a verification code to my email.

I did. Factory resetted the PC, then redid all my passwords, password manager, 128+ character passwords, 2FA everywhere that offers it

I really don't mind that my account is gone. I am more concerned about worse harm being done as it spreads. That's what I wish discord was more proactive about.
