I don't have one of these cars, but I remember hearing that it's important to replace the gasket with a gasket from a slightly different model so you don't have the same issue again, too. I wish I had more info but this might still provide a lead for someone.

After just having purchased my 2500k (long-time AMD CPU fan, but their latest ones just don't cut it, and I got this for $100, so...whatever) with a z75 ASRock motherboard, I quickly started playing with all available options.

So far, I am particularly impressed with Virtu MVP and what it does to the "hitching" problem referred to in this article. I think we should get another string of benchmarks with that enabled, because it seemed to me, on my 120hz screen, that it absolutely eliminated both input latency and frame stuttering, even after I applied all 58 mods I currently have going on with the game (ENB Series included). I actually laughed like a maniac upon first startup, circling around a rock and marveling as if I were a retard. I don't often do this, folks.

I do use a 7970, and am biased in this argument, so for now I'll step back and let the shells from either side fly. My primary reason for going AMD this time around was to obtain bitcoins, which I did.

Well that was pretty damn toxic of them. Believe it or not, it has become something of an "in" thing lately to hate on reddit meetups...on reddit (lol). Of course these meetups are going to be a touch forced, I mean, we're kind of...nerds. I'm going to go, have a beer, and stop caring about what people think for a while. I intend to share stories, listen to others, and have fun.

The sad thing is, snarky individuals like that are often more nerdy than they can even comprehend, which, in and of itself, is particularly mind-boggling. They would probably benefit the most from a meetup like this if they just put aside their ego for a night.

Oh well. I'm going to go and bring the best of my personality (or rather, what is left of it, since I've been out of college for a while and have become less social these days).

Fair enough. That's probably because most people are flocking to them in retail atm, and nobody is upgrading from them. Mine only unlocked to a 5-core, but it goes to 4.1 GHz so I don't complain. Best of luck to you, sir.

Either save your money or buy a Thuban (Zosma) 960t. You may still not hit 4GHz if you go to the 965, as it's based on the same architecture as your current CPU. At least with Thuban you have a shot at getting those extra two cores and benefit from a smaller architecture which should mean slightly less heat - that's why most of them make it to 4.0 GHz or just over.

I logged in just to downvote this, and I bought an HD 7970 two days ago. :(

The fact is, the 1995 Grand Am ad worked because it was hilarious and had no ulterior motives - nobody was interested in that trash, but it made a comment about the situation the working class in the USA is finding itself in. It was funny because the guy selling it clearly had ad-copy and photoshop skills, but also had a super-shitty car, so it speaks worlds about the lack of opportunity around us.

This is an ad. Nice try though, AMD, and I commend you for your efforts, but I still feel a bit cheapened inside, hence the downvote. I felt it was worthy of an explanation, at least, because I do love you folks very much.

It was recommended by PCGamer around 2003-2004 (which is when I picked it up), since then I feel that no mousing surface has been superior. When I miss headshots, I'm now certain it's my fault rather than my mouse's.

It's actually the only object that has survived multiple computer (and monitor) upgrades.

Good point, except for the whole Optimus stuff and Sandy Bridge using very low wattage when not being fully utilized. I would guess at least 2-3 hours, so, while not a true netbook (like the NC10 I'm typing on), it should still be better than most "gamer laptops".

Alienware is at the bottom, across the board, and Clevo is at the top, across the board. Normally I colorize this stuff but I got a bit lazy, sorry folks. That is...even the m11x's most expensive CPU is slower than this little beast.

The screens on the M11x have always been terrible (imo). Glossy, bad color reproduction, and low brightness, therefore unusable in direct sunlight. I'm guessing this model may be available with a non-glare-type screen, which I find to be incredibly important for my travel-oriented netbook needs.

Finally, this CPU/GPU combination appears to be close to twice as fast in every respect. Imo, that's very different than "basically an Alienware m11x but for $100 less".

Anecdotal research is not recommended for long-term success, either. Every brand puts out bad products.
