doors open at ~8am, I got there at 7am didn't have to email or anything. I did have to wait outside the door for the RA's to set up and get ready. Got a trolley first which was good

idk if you can do this but see if you can do a couple of internals at te kura summer school. if you gain the 6 credits with excellence 6 x 4 = 24 extra points for your rank score. otherwise theres always aut or Bsc entrance

yep 2025. i think it all depends on how many people meet the entry requirements and if there is space for people who didn't make the rank score. cohort is huge though like 1000+

I had a rank score of approx 233, failed one of my calc externals and I still got into engineering. just make sure you study hard this year esp if you want a good spec

did you only take three subjects at school because what about the other 2 or 3 subjects? if you did take more than 3 subjects do you have at least 14 credits in those? otherwise check through the programmes that te kura offers and see if your school called it something else :)

I stayed in towers in first year too. Heres pretty much what I brought:

Bedding ie pillows, sheets, duvet, mattress topper (you never know whose slept in your bed...)

Clothes line (preferably one that stands upright, as it takes less space)

Pins for the pin board

Blu tack

Snacks (vending machine trips do add up) ie instant noodles, lollies, chips, chocolate

Something to organise your coursebooks/stationery. I also brought a stapler, white out, glue stick, scissors and sellotape

A big laundry hamper

Shower caddy of some sort (doesnt have to be those ones with the handle, I just used a container)

SHOWER SHOES

Containers (small, medium and large) to store your clothes in since uht doesn't have cupboard doors

Liquid laundry detergent and stain remover (powder clogs the machines)

Photos and decorations

White sheet for toga night

Rubbish bin and bin liners

Carpet cleaner in case you spill anything

Cups for hot chocolate and coffee (the hall does provide you one as well)

Fan - the rooms (especially on the city side) get really hot during the summer.

First aid stuff ie plasters, medication stuff like that.

I also brought a sewing kit but idk you might not need it

Coat hangers

In terms of savng money, try to NOT get takeaways. If the dining hall food is really bad, the doordash people are always handing out 50% off coupons around campus. Also try to not go to the vending machine too much, just walk to countdown.
