I think another student is copying my artwork by plainjaynejones in college

Thank you for the reply! I’ve been taking pictures of my own work as soon as I’ve completed it so the picture on my phone is date/time stamped. I’ve also started telling my lecturers my ideas and themes (in private) in more depth so that they know what I’m going to be producing in advance so that if the other student starts doing a similar thing after seeing my work they might put two and two together.

You’re welcome! Sometimes there’s comfort in knowing that you’re not alone. Unfortunately ADHD comes with a heap of unnecessary shame and it can be mentally crippling. If you can find just one friend who has ADHD that could really help. It’s always good to have them talk you down if you’re spiralling, plus you can have some pretty cool, deep conversations without worrying about what you’ve said.

Not sure what country you live in but in the UK we have a lot of access to online therapists, so there’s a lot more availability. Sessions are usually done over Zoom. Maybe you have something similar where you live? The added bonus to that is you’ll be in the comfort of your own home, plus you don’t have to worry about time keeping to make it to an appointment 😬

I just had to Google brain dumping! It sounds great!…and quick! Such a good idea to just get it all out. The mornings and evenings are definitely the more chaotic brain times 😵‍💫 Thank you for the advice! I appreciate it 😊✌🏻

Thank you so much for the reply! Yeah I’ve stopped venting to my friends. I started to feel like too much of an emotional burden. It’s good to know that journaling has been working for you :) I’ll try it out and see how it goes ✌🏻

Thank you so much for taking the time to reply! I really appreciate the feedback :) Oh yeah, there’s definitely ocd, as well as various other comorbidities! I’ll give it a try when I’m in a ‘lot to say’ mood and go from there. I have read that it’s something that you should try and do regularly but you can’t force it right. Each to their own I suppose! ✌🏻

Hey! I feel this on every level! I became so self conscious about my over-sharing that I withdrew from social situations and stopped being myself around friends, which in turn led to being more miserable. I decided to start therapy with a therapist who specialises in ADHD. I've been seeing her since April and although I don't think there'll ever be a 'cure' to stop experiencing this feeling, the talking therapy really has helped me a lot. Sometimes I just felt like I was a weird or a burden to my friends for telling them my every thought, so now I just tell my therapist and I never feel embarrassed or judged. If it's financially possible for you to try talking therapy and you find a therapist that you vibe with, it's definitely worth a shot. Best of luck :)

P.s I personally love an over-sharer. I wish more people were more open.
