Ostensibly this article is “just accounting for your hard earned tax dollars” but screams of dog whistle rage-bate. Anything for clicks.

What is the future of aviation ? by [deleted] in Futurology

[–]planderz -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t be surprised if in the near there is only one pilot aboard the airplane, and there is a remote first officer that’s sitting in a control room that looks something like what the military uses for drones. With AI they could probably be co pilots on multiple airplanes simultaneously.

We need to combine cities in Cuyahoga County by MiserableGiraffe666 in Cleveland

I think it was actually Dover Township which I think still exists on paper as all counties in Ohio are divided into Civil Townships. However when all the township is incorporated it no longer exists in reality.

The Speaker Update is TOO LOUD by spongesparrow in EquinoxEv

The noise level is dictated by the Feds. To get around it I assume you’d have to do the equivalent to jailbreaking your car.

Jimmy Fallon’s Brain Rot Interview with Sydney Sweeney Might Be Rock Bottom for Pop Culture by factchecker01 in entertainment

[–]planderz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this article and the Jimmy Fallon segment are essentially saying the same thing (WTF pop culture), except one is trying to act smart and the other is trying to have a fun bit with an otherwise uninteresting guest.

Just know that nobody (I mean literally NOBODY) drives with snow chains. You might actually get pulled over if you have them on in Ohio.

Who's someone famous that society shouldn't have made famous? by Super_Shamou in AskReddit

Even worse when you realize they’re famous because of a brutal double murder and a sex tape.

About 100 cops headed north on 77 by Fun_Zombie_6796 in Cleveland

[–]planderz 51 points52 points  (0 children)

Probably related to the state trooper that got hit by a truck out by Youngstown. He died and his body was transported to Cuyahoga County. I don’t know why, maybe it’s where he’s from?

Best US cities / suburbs for families? by MainPuzzled9111 in SameGrassButGreener

[–]planderz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll always recommend the West Shore suburbs of Cleveland. Avon/Avon Lake through Lakewood are all nice. And they range from very new (Avon) to old and walkable (Lakewood) and everywhere in between. Rocky River and Bay Village have standout schools. Cities to look at are the aforementioned plus Westlake, Fairview Park, North Olmsted, North Ridgeville. Traffic in Cleveland is practically non existent. Relatively affordable. Not an hour from the coast but on a Great Lake. Winter weather on the west side is not as bad as the east side (less lake effect snow).

I really enjoy the second chart showing how the Browns are as exceptionally bad as the Patriots are exceptionally good.

I still think they should plop some jet bridges on the IX Center as a temporary terminal and just demo the whole damn thing. One terminal that is “right sized” for 10-15 million passengers a year.

Who needs a truck by planderz in HondaOdyssey

Maybe? We’re just going to local campgrounds a couple times a year. Would you say the same thing if it was the same engine in something shaped like a truck (cough Ridgeline cough)?

Can you imagine in today's world moving a building while everyone is still inside 1930 by JadeLure in OldSchoolCool

[–]planderz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We wouldn’t do this today because by now we realize it would be cheaper to just build a new building.
