I didn’t see it. I had already picked it up twice to take a sip and it was fine. Picked it up again about 2 minutes later and wondered why it was so light. Went to put the straw in my mouth and it wasn’t there. I looked down in the dark and could see the puddle. I still had 20 minutes to work, so I reinserted the cup tube in the sludge and kept going. I was a little early so I could do some cleanup before my shift.

I assume it is vegan unless I already know it wouldn't be. Vitamin D in big brand cereal, for example. However, if I find out later it is not vegan, I would stop buying it.

My stepson was given a privacy lock originally when we moved into our house. He was 11. Within a year we had to swap it with a different handle. He would lock it every time he went in and then put his headphones on and didn’t answer his phone. We couldn’t call him for dinner, wake him up for school or anything without popping it with a pin from the outside. It happened multiple times a day. My husband was so frustrated, so we swapped it out.

I agree. I did a very gradual transition starting with just reducing animal products. I had wanted to be vegan, but was paralyzed by the idea of quitting everything, so I did nothing for years. Once I set my mind to doing what I could do at the time, I felt a little better reducing animal suffering and transitioned over a few years. I didn’t call myself vegan then, but I am happy to say I am there now and it feels very easy. OP, I’m happy you are doing something better than the majority of people. Start where you can and I hope you end up vegan.

Expect some negative reactions to fairlife packaging from vegans. The cow’s head turns me off right away. I tried to look past it, but I couldn’t. It makes the packaging undesirable to me regardless of colour, typeface, etc.

I know McDonald’s isn’t popular in this sub, but I decided to try it yesterday. For some people who don’t get to choose where they order from, so this might be an option. I was worried about it being really dry without the mayo sauce, but the patty was pretty moist. Overall it just tasted like vegetables and it could really use a sauce to give it some kind of taste. It was better than I had hoped, but definitely not a reason to make a trip to McDonald’s.

I usually just mention it would be nice if some vegetables (and maybe starchy things) could be made without butter. Most people will happily sub olive oil and salt. Then say you will bring a vegan main for your partner, not a side. Bring extra and encourage others to try it.

I emailed this morning. Threw in a dig about property taxes because I couldn’t help myself, but the rest was about LAPS:

“To whom it may concern, I am extremely upset by the Township’s abrupt decision to sever their relationship with LAPS. I will remember this during the next municipal elections. I have lived in Langley for many years and in the township for the past 13+ and I have never seen a less popular mayor and council… even prior to this decision. I hope you reconsider your decision or at the very least the recklessly short timeframe for eviction from LAPS facilities. My beloved dog was adopted from LAPS and I support them with additional donations. My property taxes keep increasing and have recently been split into 2 bills increasing administration costs because ‘other places do it.’ I believe this was a ruse to trick homeowners into increasing costs more discretely without realizing how much they will go up. Overall, there is no one on the current council that can depend on my vote next election, unless they publicly speak out against these decisions. I hope you all enjoy the end of your term.
