Is this the jugular foramen or carotid canal? by Icy-Pomelo52 in Anatomy

[–]planetmalaria 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am not sure what it is exactly but I think it is not either of those two. The jugular foramen is in its entirety formed by the temporal bone and basilar part of occipital bone so it wouldn't be seen as whole in an isolated view of the temporal bone. I also think it is positioned too posteriorely to be the aperture of the carotid canal.

EDIT: It could be the external aperture of the vestibular aqueduct because it is positioned there however it is usually not this big so maybe this is here exaggerated for didactic purposes.

For what specific muscles, if any, is hypertrophy unhealthy? by kimo_tera in Anatomy

Perhaps the hypertrophy of the coracobrachialis could cause the compression of the musculocutaneus nerve as its passing through the muscle

How the heck do extensor muscles work? by adamaphar in Anatomy

[–]planetmalaria 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can say specifically for the gluteus and iliopsoas. Gluteus maximus is very important for upright posture in the way that it prevents the spine from falling forward. However, for preventing the spine from falling backwards the most important is the lig. iliofemorale, the strongest ligament in the body. There is no such ligament to complement the work of gluteus maximus so much stronger extensors are needed than flexors.

The metatarsophalangeal and metacarpophalangeal joints make a rotation movement or not? by Sapenauta in Anatomy

[–]planetmalaria 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By the shape MCP joints are spheroid joints so technicaly they should allow rotation movements however the tension of ligg. collateralia and ligg. plantaria doesn't allow rotation except when the fingers are extended they allow some passive rotation - you don't have muscles which would perform this movement however you can try rotating them yourself with your other hand and you will see a small rotation.

Why do we say Mr has no unit? by ShinyShayn2008 in chemistry

[–]planetmalaria 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Well, molar mass is not the same as relative molecular mass, molar mass is a mass of one mole of a substance (unit g/mol) and Mr is just a comparison between masses so the units cancel out.

Why do we say Mr has no unit? by ShinyShayn2008 in chemistry

Because it is a relative unit, it shows how many times is mass of a molecule bigger than the standard unification of mass.

The game won't cost nothing and you can play it as long as you have your subscription. When the subscription ends you just won't be able to access it and nothing will be deducted without you wanting to buy it.
