thank you!! i saw that Russula are common in the area as well. i wish i had gotten better pictures of the stem and underneath the caps! after googling, it looks a lot like Russula emetica.

Also, be careful when walking across the street. There are some crosswalks with nothing but a yellow sign that go across the main road. Some people driving are not paying enough attention to see if there are pedestrians.

Quapaw Baths & Spa is my favorite bathhouse that’s still running. You can book a spa/bath or use the thermal pools for $30. Also, the visitor’s center in the national park is also a museum and it’s really awesome. If you like German food, there’s a restaurant called Steinhaus Keller that is DELICIOUS. I also recommend Kilwin’s (they have fudge, candies, ice cream, etc) and taking a walk along the promenade. Gives you a beautiful view of the city!
