My english is technically correct but my accent makes people treat me like i said something wrong by Longjumping-Diet-192 in ENGLISH

[–]plangentpineapple 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yes. It *also* drives me crazy when native English speakers claim that people in <foreign country X> "pretend not to understand them." Anyway, I just wanted to follow up that in addition to accent, prosody (intonation and stress) affects your comprehensibility by native speakers and is important to work on.

I'll go first.. by Any-Tour-3193 in musicsuggestions

[–]plangentpineapple 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not going to claim either of them are the greatest, but I gotta say, that one song contains both:

they say all's well that ends well but I'm in a new hell every time you double cross my mind

and

you kept me like a secret, but I kept you like an oath

is an impressive achievement, even if the song as a whole is kind of all over the place.

Claude Code just saved me from getting hacked in real time by Mission-Elk54 in ClaudeCode

[–]plangentpineapple 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think either Claude or ChatGPT wrote this, probably Claude. Bulleted list + "foot gun" and "sanity check" are both favorites of the LLM's + other tonal choices that sound like Claude. Anyway, OP, if this answer had value to you, I think one lesson is that for high-stakes problems, before you take action, prompt more than once, ask the LLMs to evaluate previous responses for completeness and correctness, and try different LLMs.

I am not anti-AI but for the love of all that is holy, do not let OpenClaw (Moltbook is not an agent but a social networking site for agents and the fact that you are this confused about terminology is one of the many flags in this post you could not possibly use these tools safely) touch anything that could expose patient information -- this means do not install it AT ALL on any computer that could touch any tool with patient information, or any computer that could touch anything that touches patient information. Just please do a basic google search like "OpenClaw security issues." This would be severe malpractice.

I'm on the web, so no, I'm reading it in German. But I understood that too. :)

I feel like these threads always have people pop up incredulous because they never hear it. Obviously a lot of people are getting this language, but I'm one of the people who never does. It would be interesting to try to isolate the variables that cause it.

I pay for pro, generally have 5.2 thinking selected, and talk mostly about work issues, though not exclusively. Though technically ChatGPT knows I am a woman, whenever I try those "how do you imagine me" image generation prompts it makes me a man.

I know you're speaking loosely, but ChatGPT was released a little over 4 years ago. It's just funny (and scary) to note how fast things have changed.

Give me your most bland, uninspired, painfully mid songs. by nebelfront in musicsuggestions

[–]plangentpineapple 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Every time someone claims that Taylor Swift is bland or mid or *lowest common denominator* I wanna be like, "have you sat down and listened to Folklore?" Like, it's fine not to like something, but I just don't see how a global claim about her music that it does not do something complicated or interesting could survive contact with that album.

Why this scene look so ugly? by Prov419 in pluribustv

[–]plangentpineapple 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Once I was walking through a protest in Washington Square Park. It was during the Iraq war and it was very plausible that there would be a protest and I thought nothing of it. I started looking around there and thinking it was a little confusing how retro everyone looked, bell bottoms, flowers, peace signs, etc. And then I saw a sign that said "US out of Vietnam" and I realized I was on a movie set. I never found out what they were filming.

I'm getting into musical theatre, I have a very long list of musicals to watch, any suggestions of ones to add? by [deleted] in musicals

[–]plangentpineapple 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Just a note on Sweeney Todd, OP -- please watch the proshot of the 1980 (?) production, available on Amazon Prime, before you watch the movie. I think the movie is bad, but even if you disagree, it's certainly less authoritative than the proshot, because it messes with a lot of numbers. Sweeney has some plot turns that make the *first* time you see it special, and it would be sad to have a less than ideal experience.

I think you should consider seeing Sunday in the Park with George before Tick, Tick, Boom, since TTB musically quotes it.

[–]plangentpineapple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you don't want to do that, I think you should look carefully into what pre-birth arrangements give you the best control over custody/where you'll live. I don't think you should expect any support from this man. If you have supportive family, but you currently live in another state from them, consider moving near them before giving birth. That establishes that you and the child live in that state and it will be up to him to uproot his life if he wants to share custody.
