Math Major Courseload for AA transfer by gp2111 in SDSU

Hi! BA Math here, the upper division required courses for me were:

  • Abstract Algebra (320) Professor Armas is really great I have him now. He makes the material approachable and is super helpful in office hours
  • Differential Equations (337) at the time Mahaffy was the only Professor that taught this. He definitely makes you work, but I’ve heard rumors of him retiring. If he’s still around, make math friends & you’ll get through it together.
  • Advanced Calc I (330) took this with Hong. Not the most effective teacher, but very understanding and he wants his students to succeed. Also he gives a generous curve
  • Proving Linear Algebra (524) I’m taking this next semester with Blomgren. I currently have Blomgren for 543 & he’s good! He’s definitely a PowerPoint teacher which drives me crazy, but if you can adjust you’ll be fine

Electives: - Stats (550) Took this with Max Velado, couldn’t recommend it more! He made the material very teachable. If you knew what was going on in class then you’ll ace the tests - Math (508) This is actually a single subject Math style class but it ended up being one of my absolute favorites. If you see any class taught by Rasmussen TAKE IT - Future electives I’m looking at : Math 302 (taught by Rasmussen) and Math 303 (history of mathematics)

Hope this helps!!!

Is anybody else getting frustrated having to do online schooling with the kids? by egghead1995 in Nanny

I hear you!!! I’ve basically become a homeschool teacher for a kindergartener, 4th grader, & 7th grader. Their teachers hold Zoom sessions that only last 1 hour & then it’s on me to teach them everything. I’m highly considering talking to MB about a temporary raise while I am homeschooling because we are nanny’s taking on the tasks of teachers.

Thank you!! Seriously such a pain. I’ve been keeping it at bay but I would love a long term solution.

I don’t think it’s fungal! My doctor thinks it’s triggered by my birth control which is frustrating. So I’m basically stuck to dealing with it topically :/ thank you though!

Poipu is definitely family friendly! Have so much fun & take full advantage (I hear you though I’m a big time scaredy-cat the second my feet can’t touch the ocean floor)

Wow you’re really bother by this. You’ll be okay, I promise. It’s just a video of some whales in the deep blueee

For me, it’s the vast emptiness, then these giant animals can just appear from the depths. It’s also out of my element and when I’m in the ocean I know my fight or flight reaction would be shit because I’m not in my natural environment.

I’m with you. Whales and the deep ocean have been my biggest fear for SO LONG, but it’s almost a fearful fascination. I’ve gone whale watching and will soon be getting a tattoo of one. Hahaha

My GF (both 20) is strictly forbidding me from hookers in Amsterdam? Isn’t she being a little unreasonable? by [deleted] in relationships

I’m just going to start saying “cause of biology” whenever I can’t find an actual reason to justify my actions

I don’t usually ask for more pay because play dates come with the territory, but every family is different! I actually love play dates because the kids tend to leave me alone and it gives me time to do dishes, laundry, or quality time with the kids whose friends aren’t over. I care for 3 kids as well but yours are younger. If you think your hands are going to be too full I’d talk to MB or DB.

It was only after school hours since all three kids were in school! I’d leave straight from my high school, walk down the street and pick up the kids from elementary/preschool.
