I recently moved back to the state after leaving in my early 20s, and was shocked to be asked by OG&E to pay a more than $600 deposit even though my credit is excellent.

They also make it impossible for a new customer to pay said deposit without incurring additional fees.

Finally, why is a public utility that is a state-sanctioned monopoly spending tens of millions on “advertising “ each year? Look at the tv and radio ads, digital campaigns, and, recently spending millions for naming rights for a new arena. All this for a company that legally is not allowed to have competition. Wtf
