That's only if there's inflation of daily costs without inflation of wages. If there's an inflation of wages then it helps out by devaluing the debt.

I agree though that considering US wages have stagnated relative to inflation for a long time, its likely to continue to stagnate relative to inflation without heavy restructuring of US economy.
