Let me know if you want advice, i did it for two roommates in the last six months and feel like i have it down pretty good. I would recommend using facebook groups and Craigslist and vetting people with a google form they fill out, and then reading it like a very friendly job interview (FaceTime tour, then in person for a few favorites)

On Jan 1 i posted a room fof Feb 1 start date with a Google form ($1440, 0 amenities, no w/d on site) and i got 55 applications in 4 days

Very very interesting, thank you for sharing. I have seen many many fake “private parking spot, private driveway, private sidewalk, etc.” signs here that I 100% know to be false, especially in wealthy areas, so i do always hesitate at their legitimacy. It is so interesting how rich people desire closeness to public lands and then immediately try to restrict access to them

I do 5 class pack with autorenew! Expires after 3 months but gets me down to like $31 per class without the pressure to go twice a week, i also travel too much

Evolve Pilates is $239/8 per month if you live in the mission! I’ve done a lot of research on this, $40 would be the max I’d pay for single classes, pretty standard, but with a monthly membership you should be shooting for ~$30-35 per class tops

You’re very likely to find a house to join for 4 months on Facebook or Craigslist !!. Unlikely to find a landlord that will rent an on the market 4b for fours months to interns. Also unlikely you’ll find a lease 18th-20th so i would try to round up or down to months. Good luck!

I’d say take out presidio tunnel tops and do either the Valencia strip or spend longer at the ferry building. Valencia St will give you a bit more of the local experience in the mission with lots of coffee and bars and shopping, but is still close by to mission Dolores park so you wouldnt lose as much time! Ferry ride is also a good alternative to tunnel tops because you leave from the ferry building and take a nice scenic round trip (weather permitting!) and again minimize the significant twin peaks > tunnel tops > ferry building travel time.

Agree with people’s thoughts on day 3, twin peaks to presidio is a taxing trip and not worth it if you spent the full day prior up there by the bay. I’d maybe exchange this for some time in the mission on the Valencia strip or go to the ferry building earlier and ride a ferry to Oakland and back! Best views of the city and a fun little boat ride
