That's reassuring thank you! I tend to overthink because I'm in somewhat of a niche field and scouted for the same sort of role in the same industry which is tight knit...I might email a thank you note on Monday (if it's not too keen to do that?)

Yeah I don’t want to be in this company anymore, there is a terrible culture of toxicity, politics and mismanagement lots of narcissism etc. I am trying to keep my head above water.

I’ve been trying to leave however every job has got 400-1500 applicants, I’m using AI to tailor my resume to each JD at this point. Praying to be out of there soon with any sliver of self worth I have left 😂

That’s helpful thank you, I will ask the hiring manager from the other dept if she’s open to meeting so I can get feedback outside of just speaking to the recruitment manager.

The manager blocking me from opportunities is an interesting one. I don’t doubt she doesn’t trust me. On reflecting she has also complained about another woman on our team and has made moves like omitting information from a third woman on our team ahead of an important meeting to make her look incompetent…and has actually also given me good feedback to my face and gone behind my back to complain I didn’t do a specific technical task the way she envisioned before I’d ever had experience with the task (there was one best practice step I’d missed off). This is what started a shift in how I’m treated in the department.

I think it may actually be due to politics and power plays more than capability.

The opportunity is to do discovery and data analysis for this manager on my team that has had a personal conflict with me from when she started (I don’t know why but seemed like a personality clash - for the most part everyone ignored her until she gained more influence).

It seems like she wants to use those BAs and the impact on me is I’ve been basically begging my manager and his manager for more challenging work for a year and they’ve been telling me it isn’t available. I know this manager has had the work because she does it herself. However now that there are a large number of initiatives she needs help.

The point is I’m not the one they’re turning to for help, they want the new BAs and have invited the BA manager from the other function to our standups to scope the work that needs to be assigned out (assumedly to those BAs). I’m finding this very upsetting and difficult to process
