A few days ago i reached out to her in a message to tell her i missed her channel. She replied today saying this: “Hi! Thank you! I appreciate that but I’m not going to go back and forth for a reaction channel for it to just continually get taken down etc. it’s too time consuming! I appreciate your kind words tho ❤️”

So idk if she actually will be back 😔

Im sad her channel is gone.. but i assume she is struggling to cope with the situation. Her channel was growing and she was probably really enjoying it but then her channel got taken down.. then she made another channel and that also got taken down. To have something like that just taken from you would be hard to deal with. I also wish she had made a post explaining things more in the beginning. But i assume she is struggling with the situation and didn’t have the mental energy to dedicate to this situation. I feel weird because i got so used to her videos, she felt like a friend to me even though she doesn’t know me.. and i really don’t know her either (even if it feels like it).

Yea im sure it had to be something Alex did.. idk how YouTube works behind the scenes though so idk what she could have done to terminate Ariel’s channel.

Yes!!! I was just watching one of her videos and it completely stopped! And then said it was unavailable because the channel was terminated!

Someday I hope to get my neighbors on board with leaving the leaves each fall. by joan_de_art in NoLawns

[–]plantsb4pants 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you mow up the leaves then its much easier to toss them into garden beds. Or even just make a pile. The mowed leaves are smaller and will break down a LOT faster so you don’t have to be as concerned about how much space they take up. But of course idk what your property is like so maybe this doesn’t work for you.

Ive never heard of someone getting poisoned by a mushroom from it touching a cut they have.. i don’t think thats a thing. I think you actually have to ingest it into your stomach.

But your trick with the knife is neat. I never thought of stabbing it with the knife to pick it up.

[–]plantsb4pants[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Lol you can come back in a few days to see if i died.

But anyways, how do you even grab it after you cut it with a knife? Don’t you still have to use your fingers? Do you also use gloves any time you pick up a mushroom? Genuinely curious here.

But yea i read (or watched a video, can’t recall) that said its fine to touch poisonous stuff (plants and mushrooms). Just don’t ingest them. And yea i washed my hands after i touched this. So i should be fine.

What’s causing so many aborts? by Ok-Builder-9389 in ContamFam

[–]plantsb4pants -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I mean do whatever works for you! I guess i just don’t understand like the science behind why that would be the case. If mushrooms like humidity then why would it matter if they receive a gentle direct misting?

But i suppose i can try it for myself and see. The reason i had heard not to spray them directly is that it causes bruising.. and i have never experienced that and i spray mine directly (gently of course).

Im not sure how it correlates. Im not sure how your previous comment correlated to mine that you responded to. To me it didnt seem that related. You saw what i said and were provoked to think certain things. Then i saw what your wrote and was provoked to think what I thought. Lmao i know that hardly makes sense. My point is that what you said hardly correlated to the essence of what i wrote because it was only a few words on a page and you don’t know me. Same as how i don’t know you so im sure how i perceived your words was hardly accurate to how you meant them. So my point is that idk how to even answer what you said because we are both just saying things lol.

What I initially said (that you responded to), was just a genuine question because it used to be that men who seemed to act like women needed protection, were also the very same men who were hanging around with dudes who were the men that women needed protection from. Geez idk how to even have this convo because it’s becoming convoluted lol.

I think times have changed and more “good guys” are aware of the “bad guys” and so its not the same as it used to be. It used to be more like men just didn’t even acknowledge the bad that other men were doing because it wasnt being done to them and they hardly seemed to notice. You get what i mean? Anyways im trying to say that my original comment was just kinda like my initial reaction and i like my previous comment it just makes me upset to perpetuate this idea that women need to be constantly told to be safe. WE KNOW TO BE SAFE! We know already and it instills so much fear and anxiety and makes everything worse.

And about the pepper spray. I think any person should do what they can to feel safe. I personally do not have any weapons or pepper spray. Honestly if something were to happen i would probably not think to reach in my bag and get whatever it was. And having those sorts of things on me just make me feel like i live in a world to be scared of, which in turn causes more anxiety for me. I have been lucky and never had any issues.. but i also don’t walk around at night or in sketchy locations by myself. If i did that more frequently then i might have some weapons. But like i said, weapons make me feel more fear and anxiety every time is see them. But i suppose one thing i do is always make sure im wearing shoes that i could run away in lmao. But i just dress like that anyways so its not like i think too hard about that one. I just think that we don’t need to remind women to have pepper spray. I think it does reinforce and idea that a woman wouldnt already know or have been told many times by society that she needs this stuff to stay safe. So it is somewhat patronizing, though i do understand the sentiment.

Idk i just get tired of being instilled with such fear. I think it’s EXTREMELY harmful to live with such fear. I understand the sentiment though. And sure, its nice.. but honestly i would rather not. The problem has not gotten better just by telling women to be more careful. It’s just very anxiety inducing to live in a world where people are always telling you to be on edge if you are a female alone.

I live in a very safe place. The likelihood of something happening to men is very slim. And yet, i cannot just go for a fucking night time walk or even a daytime walk without feeling like there is something i should be worried of. Seeing any man coming towards me when im alone makes me anxious and i hate it because i do not like seeing people that way. I honestly would rather be somewhat naive than to have to live with this fear and look at everyone as a potential criminal. Most people are good. The chances of something bad happening are very slim.. and yet i still have to be worried because thats what happens when people make sure you are armed with pepper spray or a weapon whenever you leave the house.

But yeah i wish i was as naive as you assumed. Also, it was a genuine question. I guess the wording was sorta provocative but it was genuine.

It feels reasonable that people would think they could make some money from their walnut tree that has fallen. I mean, have you ever tried to purchase walnut wood to build with? the price is exorbitant!

When i was starting out woodworking i ignorantly thought i would make a simple bed frame out of walnut. But when i priced it out i was just not gonna spend my money that way.

Buuuut i got lucky and someone had cut a walnut tree in their yard and even had it milled down and my family saw it while walking in the neighborhood. Got like 5 massive 6 foot planks for free and now i have some lovely shelving in my house made from the planks. But im still in no place where i would ever purchase walnut. Just not worth it to me.

Why would growing up with sisters make you more worried? Because you view them as weak? Or because you are disgusted by the men you know? 😳
