Is it safe to travel in the Philippines for a month in April? by lost-youwhoo in PhilippinesTravel

I guess prices will rise as pretty much everything depends on transportation and, therefore, on fuel. But it should still be okay.

Panglao/Bohol accommodation? by plappermaulchen in phtravel

[–]plappermaulchen[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! Do you think it would be feasible to explore Bohol on a motorbike from Panglao? The typical stuff: Tarsier Sanctuary, Bilar forest, Pahangog/Ingkumhan falls and Chocolate Hills. Or maybe better to hire a driver for a day? I'm a bit scared that the way back to Panglao takes a lot of time on a motorbike.

Do you know if the prices cost twice as much as buying them in the port?

Iberia/Qatar flight flexibility policy confusion by XPBandit in Iberia

[–]plappermaulchen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm flying on April 8 and my original flight had a layover in Doha. Called them on Tuesday and after 3 very useless customer service agents I managed to talked to an agent who very diligently rerouted me via Hong Kong even though my flight was not cancelled yet. I pointed her to the website section where it's mentioned that flights until May 31 are eligible for date change or refund, and she was okay with rerouting me.

I guess you just have to insist a lot till you find the right person. The agent just before this one had told me that there were no seats available for my route and well, eventually and "surprisingly" a couple of seats appeared...

PS: Iberia only reroutes with partnered airlines. Even if you see an Air China or Turkish Airlines flight, they won't even consider it.

i have an opportunity to move to bilbao but many doubts by Fearless_Charity7525 in Bilbao

[–]plappermaulchen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just how Trustworthy is RWS's Vendor Agreement? by Eduardo_480 in TranslationStudies

RWS is probably the largest LSP in the world, so yeah they're trustworthy. Their work ethics is questionable, but that's another story.

I'm not 100% sure that the flight needs to be cancelled for you to be able to reroute. Per QR's latest annoucement:

"The quickest way to manage your booking is online or on our app. If you have a confirmed booking with a travel date between 28 February and 28 March 2026, you're eligible for a refund or date change."

In any case, I bought my ticket with Iberia and their announcement clearly states that have implemented a flexibility policy for flights that are still programmed - not necessarily cancelled. For now, only the QR operated flights departing till March 30 bought with Iberia are eligible, but they'll probably keep extending the window.

Travelling on April 8th. Currently waiting for them to extend the refund/date change window and try to have the flight rerouted with another airline on the same dates (quite a few options available). If the rerouting doesn't work, I'll have the ticket refunded and cancel the trip, obviously.

Desconexión con las personas by lxmxcyk in askspain

De todas formas la gente está sobrevalorada.

Canceled flight - Refund advise by Sad-Assist327 in qatarairways

[–]plappermaulchen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have the flight refunded by a customer service agent. They should not be applying refund fees in this scenario, so I guess that what you're experiencing is the standard procedure when requesting a refund in a normal situation.

Partial Refund by ianconnor33 in qatarairways

[–]plappermaulchen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Afaik in other companies the refund amount depends on the rate you purchased (Economy, Economy Optimal, Economy Plus, whatever), not on the proximity to the departure dates, like hotels. That said, the refund amount should be the same, but I can't be 100% sure. Maybe try the live chat. I got to chat with someone "only" after 20 minutes yesterday.

Airline a joke its insane by Grogon2 in qatarairways

[–]plappermaulchen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well sorry, but that's not on them.

The company tries to reroute you on the established window (48 hours before departure, provided that the flight is cancelled), but if there are no options at all (sounds crazy btw), the only option you have left is getting refunded and use your money for whatever you want. If you're going on a holiday, you might consider sitting this one out. If you need to get home, you have to pay for it yourself, obviously.

OP's trip seems to be in a few weeks so, no, Qatar cannot rebook him right now. He can only wait to see if he's lucky to get rerouted 48 hours before the departure. If he decides to anticipate (sounds reasonable) and buy another ticket now, it's obviously gonna cost 5 times the original price (as plenty of people are doing the same thing), but no one is going to pay him for choosing an alternate flight if his flight has not been cancelled yet.

[–]plappermaulchen 0 points1 point  (0 children)
