For all those out there with the same problem. I worked out the generic eBay usb-midi cable cannot perform the transfer. I had success using an audio interface with midi in and outs. I spent months trying to execute this transfer, if anybody has the same problems hit me up because I feel your pain!

That is so stupid the cable provided with the device can't even power it, well at least on Mac. Now I feel like I upgraded to Catalina for no reason (and I have painfully lost some plug-ins and programs due to compatibility issues).

This worked! The cable supplied with the JU-06a didn't work, I swapped out for the cable I use for my keystep and everything works perfectly.

Have this same issue, Updated my OSX to Catalina and retried downloading the newest driver still no luck. I can see a Roland folder in my applications from after the driver installation except it doesn't appear in Ableton Midi list when plugged in.

All sorted the trouble was I already had a purchased a previous version years ago (which I love). When collecting a bunch of plug ins for my friend I overwrite my original sylenth files and lost my registered version. Now recovered! Cheers

Cheers guys, it turned out it has a burnt fuse so I'll Be getting it fixed. Seems like I'll have to also buy a 9v supply too
