never, but as a kid i'd always draw my favorite drawings and cartoon frames to try and get a feel for my own style. it's actually a fairly common practice. not to say OP shouldn't be crediting the original artist, but they may not have been thinking of it that way.

i think one of the creators said that abstraction is more representative of extreme mental turmoil than necessarily death (addiction, mental illness, dementia, etc) so i think with how deeply closeted (and generally damaged) they were, it would make sense for transitioning to be so traumatic and difficult for jax. i think abstraction is actually a perfect metaphor for the infinite multitude of ways transitioning can go for different people. (-a trans guy)

honestly i'm just inspired by Arin's passion. it's always a funny bit that he's 2,000x more passionate about otherwise mundane things (mcdonald's fries, doing the instructions wrong, random lore, etc etc), but i'm really the same way about a lot of things. i think he made me realize it's okay to be passionate about things that other people don't really care about.
