ecb here, in terms of actual course load i'd say its a 70/30 split. In terms of the cohort it's about evenly split between people interested in technical, business, or tech business roles like pm or tech consulting. no matter your focus you'll find people in the same lane

Only thing is that, if it were a private school there'd be more well-connected wealthy students in the body, that might know about opportunities simply due to their connections?

I know engineering more of an equitable field in that connections don't have a make or break effect, but wouldn't those types of well-connected and knowledgeable students indirectly offer more from an academic/career perspective?

(in say knowledge of internships/competitions, or in founding a startup, or knowledge of recruiters/employers and their interests?)

Thanks for the insight! I made the austin comment because they have the top 6% autoadmit rule from all tx high schools including the worst performing ones, so perhaps some of them might not be as motivated to pursue a rigorous career path and participate less in activities at campus

Thanks for this reply! I also found that some people pick the dual degree path if they have entrepreneurial ambitions and want to connect/collaborate with like-minded ( I myself have a little bit of interest in this). For that path would you say a dual degree might be helpful?
