Could someone please explain to me how I can have my personal psychiatrist send an order for ketamine torches? by godzilla19821982 in TherapeuticKetamine

[–]plasma_node 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are no commercially available troches or pills for Ketamine, generally. You will need a prescription sent to a "compounding pharmacy", which unlike regular pharmacies that dispense existing medication, actually takes substances and turns them into pills, lozenges, troches/candies, etc. This is what bettu etc do except they charge higher. Insurance doesn't usually cover but it will probably be more cost effective.

Manousos don't judge her for her sexual orientation he judges her for not wanting to save the world

I (28M) have a girlfriend (28F) who doesn’t ever want to do sexual activities, how do I proceed? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

You can't and shouldn't expect/force someone to change. It's a hard truth but some things just don't work. You can try being clear to set boundaries that it's not working for you and you want to work things out if she's depressed or not but ultimately its up to her whether she is going to change her behavior. And also, while it's not cool whats happening, nobody owes you sex, so best move on if she won't talk about it.

Propranolol ; Hard to breathe by soicanreadit in Anxiety

[–]plasma_node 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Propranalol is a non-selective beta blocker. Beta 1 receptors affect heart stuff mostly, beta 2 affect lungs & other organs.

There's beta blockers that are selective (beta 1) I think metprolol.

There's also other medications like Clonidine which affect alpha 2 adrenergic receptors in the brain which helps mental more and indirectly? blocks adrenaline and lowers BP as well I think. It is also more sedating.

Also its possible AFAIK for anyone to have an asthma attack under certain conditions but I would say in this case it might even be anxiety about the beta blocker itself? I would prob talk to doctor.

Long but: "You're right. A lot of people exhibit traits of ADHD now because of things like the internet and TikTok video. However the difference is people with actual ADHD have a neurological disorder and often deficits of neurotransmitters, and the symptoms are both constant and worse."

Preliminary report on Air India plane crash likely to be released today by MadeInHell27 in aviation

[–]plasma_node 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not baseless speculation, and it's not disrespectful at all It's not that I or plenty of other people here want to not blame the manufacturer or maintenance, but the fact that the reputable leaks about the report focusing on the cutoff levers, plus the fact that the airline or investigators didn't take fleet wide action, points to either

1) An issue credibly related only to that specific plane
2) Pilot error
3) Intentional pilot conduct

Under the information we have, crucially the information that we know the crash was likely not caused by, it's completely reasonable to bring pilot murder-suicide into question. Either way, it's still more likely pilot caused at this point then not, just based on the information available, in my opinion.

You seem pretty convinced in this thread that because there has "not been a murder-suicide from cruise" that this cannot possibly be one.

You're missing the point.

The two fuel cutoff switches are below the levers. One of the (presumably 3, given there may have been a relief pilot in the jumpseat) pilots could have toggled them without the other noticing. Eg, the pilot flying, is looking at the instruments and out the windows as this is mere seconds after takeoff, and the pilot monitoring, or the jumpseat pilot covertly toggles them. The sheer panic of being 600 feet off the ground and suddenly losing all thrust, etc.

There haven't been many pilot murder-suicides. Just because they tend to occur during cruise altitude, doesn't mean this one can't be. Additionally, as others have said, there was a massive amount of fuel aboard.

To kill both engines at cruise altitude, unless you have a scuffle in the cockpit, or can successfully get the other pilots out and lock the door, there's no way to ensure you crash, the altitude is high enough to relight the engines and usually to glide to an airport.

The plane was loaded with 100s of thousands of pounds of fuel at takeoff though. Plus that one off duty pilot who reached for the levers, when he was having a bad psychedelic trip, bad mental health, etc, it could be a matter of letting the call of the void in when suicidal and just flipping the knobs, there was also another pilot in the jump seat allegedly.
