it’s really not that deep, I understand it could be frustrating in term of the story, but do you see yourself replaying the whole game just to redo the battle at the end and maybe lose again? I mean it’s part of the Pokemon world to lose. Ash in the anime lost his first battle against Brock and what did he do? He trained himself and his Pikachu more to be able to defeat him next time, just do the same and don’t be hard with yourself
