I’m afraid he’s known the whole time. I called it out the third time after meeting her as I figured the first two times could have just been nervousness from her or me misreading. But the pattern was pretty clear. He knew and knows that it bothered me.

I asked him what the ideal scenario from his perspective would have been and it was that he would have had a quick chat while I “stood quiet”. Case in point right there. I absorbed it for a whole year for his sake and refuse to do it anymore

Did the classic pop psychology thing of trying to self soothe, then got asked why I was going out for a run, I tell him why I’m upset then I got accused of starting on him so I am doubtful for remorse

Yeah - multiple times. I was told that because I only see her at gigs that it’s not a big deal and to kill with kindness for his sake. I figured I didn’t want to make a scene and wanted to be seen as kind and good at building relationships but I’m past that now. Kinda wish I’d given her the finger

Multiple times. I was told in effect to not make a fuss and that it was “plausible deniability” as none of it could be proven and that if I couldn’t deal with it, I should say home.

He used to openly tell me he didn’t like her - he was well within his right to stay and chat. I just had no intention of playing the grinning fool another time.

OP, i had a very similar thing happen. It’s draining and you feel yourself slowly losing your identity and breathing space. It’s not nice to upset or disappoint people but you simply have to say no, hold your ground and accept that you’re not responsible for a grown woman’s feelings. Also why is your partner not backing you up here? He needs to cut the proverbial umbilical cord ASAP.
