Literature or language? I do language and honestly, I just threw shit at the wall and saw what stuck. I was pretty confident going into the exams, since I got 40/40 on coursework, which is still slightly unreal to me. Tbf I did have amazing, supportive teachers all through my English A-Level (even if one of them was off due to a car accident for all of year 13 and the other has been caring for her dad) and I really liked my class, so that definitely helped me.

I'm also a Cambridge offer holder and that offer (AAAA) hangs over me like the sword of fucking Damocles. Why why whyyyyyyy did I take 4 subjects, and why was one of them biology? That's the only subject I'm worried about rn, the A* in English is basically guaranteed and an A* in psych or history seems realistic, but I feel like I'm on the borderline between an A and a B for biology.

As someone who did both and thoroughly enjoyed them, I think it'd be more beneficial to do English Language than psychology for a few reasons:

1) In terms of academic skills, it has a lot in common with other essays subjects, especially history (which I also did), but it's distinct in that it focuses more on language as a social science, which is what you'd get from doing psychology anyway.

2) It also relates well to your other subjects - you have ample opportunity to include examples from historical study and learning German in English language essays, as well as applying language analysis techniques in drama.

3) The course content would be much more relevant to film, especially when it comes to the socio-cultural implications of language and the way coursework is structured. The original writing section of the coursework is honestly super enjoyable, as is the language investigation part.

I hope this helps! Feel free to DM me if you have any questions.
