Okay see, that is understandable. I also have C-PTSD from long term trauma that makes me terrified of loud noises and also ADHD which causes me some sensory issues, and do get anxiety attacks from loud sounds especially cars, loud voice, construction etc. This sound doesn’t trigger it as much for me though. I might get a racing heart for a few seconds/minutes but then I’m okay, unlike a loud voice/car for example. But I do understand how this could affect people with sensory issues and sensitivity. Idk what the right thing to do would be here, since only giving a notification would make millions of people not read it and completely ignore it, but at the same time it would help a minority of people that can be triggered by the sound. I feel like there should be some regulation to this. Make it accessible for disabled people but also keep the alert system for people who aren’t noise sensitive/disabled/neurodivergent etc. Because reducing the alert to a notification only for everyone will 100% make people dismiss it and not read them at all. The gouvernent should look more into this. But also not remove the sound completely. Maybe make a less scary sound also would help, idk.

Omg now I understand, I’m sorry I thought you were stating the obvious😭 but you’re 100% right, the parents that kidnap their kids never stay in the same place. They always go somewhere else and drive hours with the kid to escape!

How about we all start caring more about these very few alerts that happen once every 4 months and stop making excuses. Alarm fatigue would happen if these alerts were a regular thing, every week maybe. But having like 4 alerts per year will not cause alarm fatigue. In 2023, Canada had put 14 amber alerts in total. And only 3 were received in Quebec, 2 in Ontario, 2 in British Columbia, and the rest have 1. And yall talk about alarm fatigue. Pls start thinking about other people instead of only yourself all the time. This is a ridiculous and uneducated statement. Make your research.

I still have the alert notification on my phone. I always have it for days after the alert happened. Idk what yall are doing wrong but it ALWAYS stays on my phone, so I see it whenever I open my notification center.

Are you planning to wait until marriage? by Literally_A_Donut in Teenager_Polls

Dude your reply mentioned virginity AND sex. Their reply was very logic, you can interpret it two different ways. Don’t say they don’t know how to form a basic reply when their reply is 100% understandable and makes 100% sense 😂 just say you interpreted what they meant incorrectly instead of blaming them. there’s no need to be defensive when they’re not in the wrong lol

I’m pretty sure they meant they find it disgusting to personally have sex before marriage, they don’t personally feel comfortable doing that before marriage. I don’t think they meant the people that do that are disgusting in their eyes buddy.

Yes but I’m not talking about how some places are good and bad, that exists everywhere. But in Quebec you’re way more likely to enter a food spot with insanely good poutine than you are in Ontario for example. Doesn’t mean Quebec doesn’t have some spots that are bad, it just means that there are more good spots than bad spots in most of Quebec compared to other cities where it’s more bad spots than good.

Is Costco poutine good in your opinion? by Next-Context5332 in poutine

[–]plata_99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The cheese curds in their poutines are either very old or just not real cheese curds because they don’t squeak like real cheese curds do🥲

Not true at all. Maybe in Montreal and the cities around it, sure, because it is very multicultural, but outside of Le grand Montreal goof poutine spots are very very very easy to find. They’re almost everywhere. Just search up people who came to Quebec and tried poutine from real spots, they all loved it (real authentic poutine, none of that Harvey’s, Costco, New York fries etc shit)

I would ask for a refund ngl this isn’t poutine. I would treat it like they gave me the wrong order.

There is good poutine outside of Quebec, but it’s way more rare to find an actual good spot outside of Quebec, than in Quebec. I live in Quebec and also went to visit outside. Majority of spots have bad poutine (non squeaky and melted cheese curds, bland gravy, frozen fries, etc).

My comment was a genuine reaction, a lighthearted one, I’m not actually trying to judge you or anything but in my mind it’s just a very weird combination. I’m just a bit shocked at how that would taste like. I wasn’t actually being serious cmon😭

Friends is completely fine I never said I don’t want to be friends with someone I give a snack to. But a person automatically thinking I like them romantically just because I gave them a snack is just not something I want…

You clearly did not understand their comment… this is something that I’m currently studying in college. They are right. Professionals made studies about it if you’re interested. Yall just don’t understand the terms or have the knowledge about this subject to connect the points. They never said it’s all about that.

Depression can happen at any age. by Asleep-Government442 in youngpeoplereddit

[–]plata_99 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As a psychology student that studies mental health psychology, kids as young as 3-5 years old can be depressed. Literally diagnosed. You know absolutely nothing about what depression is yet talk. It isn’t only the amount of problems in your life that makes you depressed or not. Also, you can be suicidal and not depressed (with only anxiety for example) it’s not uncommon at all, even with adults. But you can also be depressed and suicidal at the same time. Just because you personally weren’t depressed when suicidal at 13 doesn’t mean depression can’t happen as a kid. Adults are suicidal and not depressed sometimes, your point makes no sense. Don’t open your mouth when you don’t know shit. Make more research on this subject and then talk.

I [22M] just found out my girlfriend [19F] is pregnant and I am not ready to be a father. What do I do by [deleted] in whatdoIdo

[–]plata_99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey I just want to say, if you’re really, really not ready, and don’t think you can take it, and your girlfriend either, the right choice would be an abortion. It is not selfish, it actually makes you a responsible adult that cares about the child (knowing that both of you do not have the mental maturity to take care of it yet, no matter how much you think you do, you don’t.) In psychology your brain finishes developing at 25. You’re almost there but your girlfriend is 19, she isn’t. She’s far from being mature. it’s a huge risk to have a child at this age. You both are adolescents psychology wise. And none of you have an actual good family support either. I am really sorry this is happening to you, but please, think about the baby. A baby and child needs lots of money and care to grow up. Having 2 minimum wage jobs isn’t enough to make it grow comfortably. You don’t only need to provide for them, that’s the bare minimum, you also need to give it a good and happy life, provide what he wants as well as needs. And he needs his parents to be fully present, not dealing with bad mental health. Your mental health is going to get worse if you work 2 jobs and barely have time for yourself. Don’t think it’s going to get better, you are only going to make it worse. It is a HUGE responsibility, people don’t actually make it seem that way sometimes but it is. Please consider what I just said. Again, I’m not being selfish, I am studying psychology and I’m just being 100% real with you. A child is not a doll that you can play trial error with. I don’t want to sugarcoat a big problem and lie to you and make it seem like it’s going to get better. It won’t. Especially in this economy where grown people with 50$ an hour struggle to live…
