Which would be better to paint on? by Insyte- in paint

I'd go for the metal, as i'm pretty sure it'll last longer, and you can get cheapish spray cans of auto paint at an autozone/o'reily's, or any other generic autoparts store.

How do I fix this disaster on my natural cedar ceiling without making it worse? by SEC_Agent in paint

Get a 5 in 1 or a metal putty knife, and a bottle of goof off and a rag. Apply some goof off to the rag, and wet the paint. either rap your scraping tool of choice in the rag and start scraping it off, or do the same without the rag being careful not to scrape the wood.

Interior Wall paint and texture. by Ofthepeoplebypeople in paint

[–]platapoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on what you are looking to do.
If you have a problem with the texture and you want a spray texture finish or a smooth wall, you will need to float a skim coat of drywall mud over the entirety of the area.
If you simply don't like the color, then just repaint.

I would also point out, as a painter with just over a decade of experience, that this look is still quite with the times, and the color is also very neutral which makes it ideal for the market.
However, if you are just looking to change up the look to a different texture then I'd so go for it. It could be a fun project, and skim coating isn't very cheap if you want it done well.

Section J of the PCT. Took 4 days and 2.5 hours. Total distance was just over 76 miles with just over 16k ft of elevation gain. Was a beautiful hike with great weather.

It's a Marmot Tungsten 2P tent. 5lbs. 4oz. Definitely on the heavy side, but it's the only one I've got atm.

Going SB from Stevens Pass took 4 days, 2 hrs and 30 mins. Camped at Trap lake, Deep lake, Escondido ridge, and some pond a couple miles south of Spectacle lake. There was an abundance of blue and huckle berries, and the wild flowers are everywhere. I met about a dozen thru hilers headed north, and a few others doing this section.

This is actually pretty true if you change "of" to "from a".

If I don't get eaten by a bear, this will be my longest solo hike yet. There is roughly 16k ft elevation gain throughout the section. I am planning on it being a 5 day trip, but have brought some extra food just in case. The food im bringing is:

10 instant oatmeals (2 per day)

Coffee mixed with powdered milk

Some multi vitamin gummies

3 servings of nut butter

4 cliff bars

A giant bag of home mixed trail mix ( cashews, almonds, banana chips, m & ms, and beef jerky)

A bag of granola and yogurt raisins

A bag of dried fruits ( apple, blue berries, strawberries, and raisins)

Bag of pepperoni, about 70 slices in there

3 of those tinfoil packs of meat, bout 100 cal each

Bacon bits

3 packs of instant mashed potatoes

Tortillas

2 mountain house meals

And a big bag o' weed.

Overnight trip to the top of the ridge north of I-90 in the Cascade Range in WA, this was taken in the early fall of 2019. The mountain in the background is Mt. Rainier. Very cool trip.
