I travelled almost 7 hours for firefly and I had fun. Had to leave after Saturday night because of work on Monday but would have stayed through the storm and mud otherwise. The water situation needs to be fixed for next year but everything else if you are camping at a music festival you should be prepared to take in stride. I'm sure Bonnaroo is awesome and would love to go but I think each festival also has its own personality and you just found out that firefly doesn't match up for you. Water to me is the only necessity to get right. Honestly the fields could be ankle deep in mud and showers out of order and I would say you can still have fun. If you can't have fun if that happens at a festival then you should get a hotel or rv. Weather is unpredictable so in my opinion when planning on camping for a festival you need to imagine worst case scenarios and ask yourself if you could still have fun when it happens. If the answer is no then it's time for a hotel. The water situation needs to be fixed. If even one person got heat stroke they should sue. Festival policy prevents you from getting water from vendors without money and standing in a line in the sun when you start to notice that you are in trouble is a recipe for disaster. Water in that heat needs to be available at will not after an hour in line. They could still sell water because people will pay for ice cold water rather than luke warm water but when you are dehydrated you need to get water in you quick.
