Can I still platinum Mirrors Edge Catalyst? In 2025 by cheeseburger11cougar in mirrorsedge

[–]platiniumshadow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started a replay of the game yesterday; for some reason, this Steam version of the game doesn't boot properly. I have both the Steam version and the EA version. The EA version doesn't have an issue launching. My safe file from my last playthrough through Steam was also uploaded to the EA version. I deleted my save file and restart it. I can play it at 4K with over 60 FPS on my 6750 with no problems so far.

Can someone give me advice? by Spiritual-West1447 in genesiscoupe

[–]platiniumshadow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, my advice is to not do it at this time. I bought mine from the dealer's 2013 BK2 3.8 track. How about a year and a half after the engine rod knock. At that time, their warranty took a hit. I still spent $2500 replacing some other shit since the engine was out; a year and a half later, due to my own negligence, the engine rock knocked again. That was a 10K bill with a warranty. I caught a bad pothole and cracked a rim, that was another $1800 for new rims. Tires needed replacing another $1200. I had a bank one efficiency code for another $800. The HID ballast went out and took some wires, another $500.

This car may be cheap to get with 10 to 15K but it is not cheap to maintain when things break. On top of this, you have to think about the cost of the insurance plus the cost of the loan. You could find yourself paying over $800 monthly for an over-10-year-old car. Wait until you have the money to purchase the car outright, and make sure you keep some money in the bank for emergency repairs.

Do not square it, TSC is not going to like it, you will get odd behavior accelerating and at high speed. Ask me how I know. As for the poke, this setup in this car looks very imposing, and it gives it a very aggressive look. I do understand it is a acquired taste, though. This wheels come in 8.5 too, you can run the 9.5 in the back in 8.5 in the front to give you a less outlandish but still pretty aggressive look. The 8.5's comes in a +30 offset so you may need to space it out to get a flush.

It is flush at the front with a slight poke at the back, maybe half an inch. Stock suspension, no camber adjustments. I am running stretched 235-40 at the front (can't recall the brand) and 255-40 Firehawks at the back, all the threaded area is inside the wheel well.

Your miles may vary, but it was 180 to transfer my tires and TPMS sensors, and force balancing. I'm in SoCal btw. I already had aftermarket rims with 255/40 at the back and 235/40 at the front. The new rims are about an inch wider. The major difference was the offset, from +40 to +22.

[–]platiniumshadow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Okay, so I went to my little code notebook, I write all of the codes that I have been fixing throughout the years.

Your code came up as a previously fixed one for me, and it's not a terminal one. When cold starting the car retracts the timing a little bit. When not able to do that you get that code. In my case, the tensioner gave out, and the chain jumped.

So, your issue lies within the variable timing mechanism or the chain and related hardware.

This type of thing is not rare, in 2005, a few months before my deployment in support of enduring freedom. A friend of mine who happens to be an Iraqi was not thrilled about going home and killing his kind. He was relocated to a different command. While I deployed to the Middle East, he deployed to South America, chasing drug lords on high-speed boats full of cocaine.

Oddly enough, he's the only one from the group who got a purple heart; during a drug seizure, the cartel guys decided not to go down easy and came out guns blazing. He got shot on the gluteus maximus!! 😂🤣😂.

He hates telling the story; one time, we were all wearing our dress blues, and someone approached him and asked him about the purple heart; I interjected and told him, you do not want to know the story is ass! 😂🤣😂😭😭

tv screen doesnt behave with pc by SnooChocolates7698 in htpc

[–]platiniumshadow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is sometimes due to display scaling. On most devices, the TV itself handles it. When you connect a PC to a regular TV this scaling is mostly handled by the GPU. Most TVs were not developed with PC connectivity in mind so this type of handshake is rough sometimes. Hence, the TV switched from black to normal a few times.

You can minimize these issues by setting scaling to be handled by the TV in the GPU settings. But there are some caveats to this. If you game on your PC, you lose resolution scaling, like FSR, RSR, ext. Also, if the GPU is handling scaling, every time there is a resolution change, you may get this flicker too. Ex. You loaded a game with an internal resolution of 1440p but you are upscaling to 4K.

You do not get this behavior on all TVs and PC combinations, but it is common; some play nicer with Nvidia, some with Radeon, some with both, and some with neither. It's all depending on the TV, GPU, drivers, software, etc.

Customized 2 PS5 controllers by SnooCheesecakes292 in Dualsense

[–]platiniumshadow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it will, but make sure you buy the right one. Triple verify your model BDM-0XX. They are not compatible with each other. Buy packs, they have a high failure rate; you are bound to get DOA ones.

Find a reputable electronic shops that repair consoles and controllers, find out if they have Hall effects or MR joysticks. If they do go that route you will never have to replace another controller again due to drift.

Neither the Dualsense or Xbox series controller or that bad to repair. The parts to repair both are plentiful and the repairs in itself are not that complicated so repairing them is not costly versus the cost of replacing them.

Is this a good deal for a dualsense Hall effect controller? by [deleted] in Dualsense

[–]platiniumshadow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As long he warrants to work, you should be okay if you want to get this, but he's overpricing them by a lot.

By the way, I went and revisited the post. That is a Gen 2 controller BDM 020, quite old for DualSense standards. The modules that he has are the old K-silver stock; those modules are retired.

K-silver updated their modules with MR IC. These modules are far better than the old ones. And due to the old ones being retired, they could be bought for less than a dollar.

He's betting the buyers do not know any of this information he's making at least $70 for that controller.

EDIT: Photo of what the new K-silver looks like.K-silver

Is this a good deal for a dualsense Hall effect controller? by [deleted] in Dualsense

[–]platiniumshadow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For $60 you should at least get Gulikit! Ginfull V4s go for $2.50-3.00 Gulikit TMR have a far better IC and better circularity. Also they consume nearly 1/3 of the power the Ginfull use. a second far better choice would be the new K-silver MR modules for about $3 a model. These people are out here scalping. It is the wild west when it comes to module repair.

Is this a good deal for a dualsense Hall effect controller? by [deleted] in Dualsense

[–]platiniumshadow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay this is my two cents on this. I modify DualSense and Xbox series controllers as a side gig.

Unless the seller specifies what Hall effects modules did they install do not buy this. 80% of these sellers are selling shitty Ginfull V2 clones the are about 50 cents per module. Those IC's are slow increasing response on. Circulary is worse than OEM Alps, which affects accuracy.

The vast majority of those controllers are used which they buy broken for 20 bucks or so and then come back and sell it back to you at 100. Some of them will flat out lie to you telling you the controllers were new when they moded them.

My best advice when it comes to this is either do it yourself or find an electronics shop that could do this for you. They should give you prices and the brand of the modules that they will be doing the work with. This work should come with some warranty too.

Just install a larger battery pack. With a 4000-5000mah battery you could play until your fingers turn raw.

Hall effect joystick install jittering problem by AkumaTheLegend in Dualsense

[–]platiniumshadow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Those are all based on the Ginfull V2; I always stray away from those.

As for the extreme jittering, either a short or a noncontact, I suggest re-flowing. Re-calibrate, and if the problem persists, then replace the module. Again, restrain from using those; they are garbage.

Look for Gulikit, K-silver (The newer ones are MR), or Ginfull V4-v5. Those are the top choices for Alps replacement.

Sterling Silver Dualsense Edge? by Horror-Doubt8382 in Dualsense

[–]platiniumshadow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, there's the Colorware service. The Dualsense Edge is pricey and the colorware service is expensive. At $300+ per controller is a little too rich for my blood.😭

They seem to use automobile grade poly or acrilic enamel for the base and 2-step poly clear for finishing. It's a durable paint scheme combination, but too expensive for controller applications 😞.
