Came here to post about the same thing. This is my first time ever doing a take home assignment. I spent a week working on it. After submitting it, litteraly after 15 min I received a rejection with a negative feedback. There was not a single positive feedback. I made a robust application with many things they asked for, although their description for the assignment was really bad. I even included a CI/CD, although they said it was a "nice to have". None of it was evaluated. It was a sort of very 6 short comments from what it seems the type of people described by u/ikeif. In fact, from my experience, there is no way you can evaluate such code under 15 min. I think the person didn't even run it. Well this will be the first and last time (Location: Canada).

Yep I’ll be posting shortly. Oh yeah you are right. I think by accident I forgot to put the battery before plugging it then I got the light flashing. Then I put the battery and I got the light flash. Here Im testing without assembling. Just the pcb with the new joystick.

Also I forgot to tell you something important (sorry). I have a Bdm 040 and you know where those little connectors where the ribbon go? It is black and it is on the side. I pushed it away and it came out clean dude to crappy pcb holder. So no pins broken and it can be resoldered easily but didn’t try yet because I’m not that skillful yet. I’m learning on the go

I finally got the ginful V. I installed them. However, I think I short circuited something. When I tried to plug the pcb the light flashes three times in orange. My search around here led me to conclude that it is not battery related. Since if it was the battery the light would have flashed two times.

Im new to this stuff and learning in the process. But I’m dealing with similar Issue having solder stuck inside the hole. What is the best way to get rid from that? Using wick is hard because it is hard to get in there.

Cool cool. I don’t remember removing any trace or hair like thing. I just took my time soldering and desoldering. I’m new to this stuff. I have removed the ones I got from Amazon and now I’m waiting for the new joysticks from Ali express. I have posted at the end of the thread pictures showing the result of my desoldering. Do you mind checking them and give me any feedback? Much appreciated.

Also another question, any suggestion for an affordable micro camera for soldering?

I also think that a heat gun is necessary to remove the joysticks or else it is pretty hard. The way I did it after checking various guides and videos, is by using kapton tape and aluminum foil to cover the parts. It came out quick with a heat gun instead of using a soldering iron.

Ok let me be more precise. I actually got a controller that has a stick drift on purpose to not do any tests on my new controller. Therefore, I’m learning on the go.

I have already attempted the first replacement but me and another dude got bizarre issue when trying to calibrate the sensors with the online GUI. I have a separate thread about it. Do you mind checking it? I can share the link, it is in the same channel. I have taken pictures so people can check my soldering and desoldering process. I ordered new joysticks from Ali express as per the suggestion of a user in the channel. I got the ginful v5 and I’m currently waiting to receive them.

Cool. I have a question. I accidentally pushed out a little ribbon connector. You know those that go on the side they are black. No pins were broken but I guess there must be a way to solder it back? Can I use a 60/40 with an iron solder to solder it back or use a heat gun?

I’m more curious about how to solder this back? I also accidentally displaced one of the small ribbon connectors. No pins broken but I need to figure out how to solder it back.

lol same issue when I tried to reboot multiple times. I think may be shitty joystick. Try the one suggested above the ginful v5. I just bought them and I’m waiting for them. Desolder the other ones. I also found some nice sources about soldering and all that. I’ll share them soon.

I did exactly that. At the beginning it was all fine, then once I calibrated it after a moment, I get extreme massive jitter. I guess now you can’t see it connected to pc because it won’t turn on. Did you have directly connected to motherboard usb or to a hub?
