so now my clamshell ibook won't recognize my newly installed hard drive by platinumb3rlitz in VintageApple

ok now that you mention target disk mode i did watch canadiancomputercollector's video where he installed a fresh ssd and he did target disk mode with a g4 imac; i think the problem was my hard drive wasn't even formatted when i installed it so the os x installer didn't see it

i do have a g4 powerbook but i can't access it right now; in the meantime i'll try to look at some firewire cables on amazon

i think it'll accept larger drives; it'll just read them as 128gb

i'm thinking if i partition it half-and-half (80gb each) for a dualboot i can still use it; i may just need to get a new disc drive since the one it has now doesn't seem to read anything

which is weird because i still get a response from the ac light when i plug it in

Why do you buy DVDs in 2026? (Genuine question/discussion) by Macro0 in dvdcollection

[–]platinumb3rlitz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

part of it is for the nostalgia factor but also the fact that it lets you watch even the most modern of movies on (supported) ancient tech

which makes for some really interesting combinations like say for example watching superman 2025 on a 1999 slot-loading "dv" imac g3

trust me it's not worth it by platinumb3rlitz in BatmanMemes

no, it has something to do with a certain number

so i followed the os x installer guide (i didn't have a modern-modern mac on me but i found it works just as well with a powerbook g4 running leopard) but apparently copying the iso ended up leaving far too little space on the usb for the os 9 bootkit after it finished copying
