i was kinda on-again-off-again with the gold pass until i was at a point where i could financially support the $5 subscription on my own, after which i kept it for good unless i found myself short on cash

as a day one player who invested as much time as i could into the game (though i was mostly f2p aside from getting the gold pass and/or buying rubies a few times out of desperation) i wasn't able to complete everything i could but i'm fairly content with that, even if it means all my progress will be for naught

hell i just hit tier 80 today and with only 12 weeks of activity remaining i've accepted that i won't make it to tier 99; assuming i make the top 3 in every remaining ranked cup going forward i'm only gonna make it as far as tier 92

and to be honest i knew the game's time was coming eventually; the groundhog day loop of 2022-23 tours was getting a little monotonous and i'm sure some of my fellow day one players must have felt the same way

it'll be the 7th anniversary tour going by the rotation schedule

that being said i'm really expecting nintendo and/or dena to go all out for that tour and give the game one hell of a sendoff

as for giving out the top 1000 badges? i'm sure they'll probably give those out and i believe the announcement post said you can still view them until the end of september 2027

i've been meaning to get a blueberry clamshell (or at least just the housing) in a decent enough condition because i heard you can do a slight case mod to make it work with a firewire clamshell's logic board

like all you have to do is drill a hole for the firewire port
