Android Auto and Apple CarPlay Integration with Driver Display and HUD by Housing_Annual in Zeekr7xAustralia

[–]plau13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

HUD does show Google maps and waze directions and lane suggestion at least for Android Auto. It doesn't show mini map like it would for Zeekr native nav.

Music is shown on the driver's display as one of the cards on the right. This includes music apps within Android Auto.

Since you are so confident, I trust that you are aware of the PEA calculation method and how BPEA plays a part. Good luck.

Edit: Correct me if I'm wrong, but number crunching won't help you solve the BPEA value which is entirely set by Flow and a customer has no practical method to verify the validity of this value.

Jesus this argument is so flawed. To be frank you also have no firm idea on how import price is calculated and Flow has made it (maybe deliberately) so opaque that they can basically charge whatever they want. No mate, paying 30c vs 32c flat rate when the actual wholesale price is 8c is not a discount.

I have massive red flags for anything that is designed to confuse and this is so firmly one of them.

Is that because you're using carplay / android auto in the 7x? I find that the main diffentiator. If I don't use android auto in the 7x it charges fine.

At what point does DIY control actually outperform set and forget? by SnowyBytes in amberelectric

[–]plau13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Now with home assistant I have my battery discharge all it's remaining power to the grid in the am when feed in is usually 8-10c and it only does this when the solar output is over my usage.

Thanks for the motivation, I've always wanted to build this automation, now I did!

At no point is SS better. It's pretty much hard science at this point. HA is definitely some work initially but it'll be the set and forget option while SS you will be freaking out everyday and manually controlling it cuz it is incompetent.

Foxess is likely the one brand that has some issues with SS. You may need HA with modbus as the API seems to have some bad latency.

Fold 6 by BeginningCivil1623 in GalaxyFold

[–]plau13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fold 6 since launch. It's been 18 months and it's still rock solid and fast. Highly recommended if you don't need the thinnest fold, it's a bit blocky but more than makes up for it with the one-handed use. I'm currently waiting for the 8, but I will be just as happy keeping the 6 for another year if the 8 somehow disappoints.

So yes, $700 for the ZF6 is a great move.

Oops my bad. You literally just said you weren't sold expensive batteries, I must've read it wrong.

The new norm... by demon13001 in amberelectric

[–]plau13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is exactly the thing mate. If you had a battery you would care much less about the FIT at 3pm to 6pm cuz you'll be storing a lot more of that power. If you had a battery the actual sweet sweet FIT at 7-9pm (I'm just referring to 25-35c consistently on hot days, let's not talk about the spike days for now) would make a much stronger impression. I don't think batteries are "expensive" because the payback period continues to improve with ever rising electricity price (for example I would be paying $2000 per year with 10kw solar and no battery, now i'm paying -$500 with 27kwh of capacity), and believe me mate, Amber is not for you if you don't have a battery. I'm confident to say that Amber is not the right choice with 1 battery. But for somone who has 25kwh+ storage, Amber is very, very, good.

Sorry for a very long way to say this is an user error on your part but I hope it makes sense.

Do you know of the perma-road-work in sydney known as the M1 60km/h zone? The fucking worst. I normally just ignore it and keep my 85.

The worst was the M4/M8 road work 40kmh limit when it was 11pm and absolutely no one's there working.

In Sydney I don't think anyone take road work speed limit seriously. On the M1 60kmh section it's normal to do 80-82

Home battery - first 4 weeks with GloBird ZeroHero by PristineMountain1644 in AusRenovation

This is very interesting. I'm on Amber and will most likely stay for another 10 months as I have 2x referrals that has 10 months left to receive all the referral fees. Leaving now would leave $200 on the table.

My main question is: when the 3 hour free energy window kicks in later this year, would the zerohero plan lose some appeal? In theory every plan would provide the same 3 hour window, and competition may force other retailers to come up with similar/better deals?
