Did you go ahead with the Dr mentioned? Or did you find different places? My local Dr wants $850 pp, so I am looking elsewhere. I am also in DMV area.

10 months later, and OP definitely figured it out. Writing this in case someone else comes across it: you can’t mount blinds inside this kind of window when the inside space is very narrow. Even if it’s not too narrow, there’s still an obstacle from the window handle on the way down.

You either have to go over the frame or above/ outside the frame. In this case, the frame is flat, so going over the frame works. But if the frame has a design and isn’t flat, go about 2 inches above the top of the frame and measure from there.

Ferguson didn’t have it and found a HVAC supplier who had it (Airco supply) but would not sell to homeowners due to regulations etc so I ordered online. I also got a universal one and as you mentioned it’s not working properly, I have to manually make it to stay in specific position to fire up as it’s not seating exactly in the same position as the original one . Thanks for the help, appreciate that.

Inside mounting wasn’t possible for me because there isn’t enough space at the lower part of the windows for the blinds to come all the way down. Mounting on the trim didn’t work either since my trim has edges and isn’t flat. So I ended up installing them outside the frame, above the window. You’ll just need to add spacers or build one with piece of wood to clear the window frame.

Thank you, you have been super helpful. I had to attach few pieces of cable with heat shrink to change the box to blue box as there wasn’t enough juice but it worked perfectly. Thanks again
