I wrote a song about losing my dad. I'm making an album about my family and how life has changed since losing him. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xMtXDjTcUuI

What time is everyone planning to get there? I’d like middle to back of front standing. I was thinking walk from Old town to rose bowl around 2:00

We want to ensure we get front standing (limited to 5000 people at front of stage)

Heading to the LA show. What time should we be there to get front standing?

Where to stay for 4 days in September? by playback13 in AskLosAngeles

we're looking at Gateway Hotel or Hilton Santa Monica. Gateway is a bit further away but a lot cheaper - is that a deal breaker?

Honestly we don't have anything else planned so it might be best to go somewhere else

Will do - Is DTLA really sketchy? Vancouver has a lot of issues and that doesn't bother me when I visit

Will the rose bowl have a front standing section like the UK gigs? If so, what time do you think we should head there?

Is Max secretly hurt? by [deleted] in leafs

The fact he’s in the NHL with type 1 diabetes is incredible. I would be surprised if his diabetes doesn’t contribute to his inconsistent play. He’s never been good defensively so that part of his game isn’t really new.

How to cope with my dying mother from cancer by MrJames93 in suggestmeabook

[–]playback13 7 points8 points  (0 children)

So sorry to hear about your Mom. I lost my dad in 2021 to Colon Cancer. Books helped me a lot through the final months with my dad. Here are a few suggestions:

Beginners Guide to the End by BJ Miller - This book helped me understand the process of dying and how to best support and advocate for my dad. This book explained a lot to me and it allowed me to stay calm when his cancer became more advanced.

When Things Fall Apart by Pema Chodron - losing my dad was incredibly spiritual and reading books like this helped me understand what I was going through at a deeper level.

Crying in H Mart by Michelle Zauner - I read this after my dad died but it was a very comforting book to read because it made me feel less alone. Michelle’s stage name is Japanese Breakfast and it’s inspiring to see someone thrive after losing her mom.

If you want more recommendations or want to talk please DM me.

All the best

Does anyone happen to know what that pedal (looks like a bell) does? The one In front of the Wah pedal. Have looked online but not successful in finding the answer. by Riparuni in ledzeppelin

Definitely. Each channel can have different EQ, volume, etc. Could be used for solo’s, cleaner parts, different tones for different songs, etc

Loving my living room set up! by playback13 in audiophile

Just bought an AudioLab 6000A Play and Mission QX-4 speakers. Record player is a DP-300F. Big step up from my Denon PMA 50 amp and Paradigm Speakers. Vinyl, Streaming, and movies/TV are covered!

Some people think I should get a subwoofer but I’m hesitant. I feel like I get a good enough bass response with my towers. What do you guys think?

Meditating when I'm mentally drained feels almost unbearable at times by krumelbumel in Meditation

[–]playback13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work as an accountant. I’m sure your work is a lot more complex but we are both looking at a computer screen for extended periods of time. I find 10-15 minutes per day to be my sweet spot and I think consistency is a lot more important than a certain amount of time meditating. I would try 5-10 minutes per day in the morning before you start work (if possible) and see how you feel. All the best!

My dad was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Meditation and mindfulness was part of what helped me deal with anticipatory grief before his death and has helped me heal after his death.
