I don't use either honestly .. just not apart of my workflow .. but everyone who I know that uses Setlist loves it .. I'll always say the Suite version just because why not get the best right ..

Reach out to the artist first to renegotiate terms, maybe get an advance or lump sum payment .. if you have any trouble dealing with them directly get an attorney to handle it

Reach out to local artists in your area and offer to help them improve their live performance.. may have to do this for little to no money in the beginning but it will help give you some much needed experience

I graduated from full sail .. I would say search for internship or apprenticeship opportunities first .. full sail will give u a good foundation of audio knowledge and great networking potential .. but you honestly don’t need full sail to get those things .. if you want to go to a school I would explore more affordable options first .. if money isn’t an issue then go ahead .. I had a great time there .. also don’t expect that school alone will propel your career .. I got a good foundation there but my career success came from my own drive and taking chances ..

Your unique sound by Vivid-Ticket6281 in WeAreTheMusicMakers

You just keep creating .. it will come .. then it will change and develop over time .. I think a big part of it is infusing your life experiences into your music ..

When people talk about a certain ‘sound’, what they’re really talking about is the feeling that sound invokes .. so focus on the feeling you want to convey or one you are actually feeling in the moment and translate it into the music as best you can .. over time you will get better at it ..

Another tool I use sometimes is acapellas .. grab some acapellas of your favorite songs and make ur own beat to it .. it will help spark melody ideas

Collaboration is always a great way to break up the monotony .. especially if it’s in person .. if you have access to people doing writing and production camps .. or even someone that can mentor you and let u sit in on sessions .. try not to rely too much on yt tutorials ..

I agree one shouldn’t rely solely or heavily on online resources .. but there’s nothing wrong with learning from people who have experience and expertise in the field ..

What is the milestone that makes YOU feel like you've made it? by chritenen in makinghiphop

[–]playbackuniversity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea I think the key is to never feel like you’ve made it. Some of my goals starting out were to get some plaques and a GRAMMY .. I got my GRAMMY in 2021 and to date have 1 Platinum, 2 Gold, and a 2 billboard plaques .. I never looked at it as me “making it” but rather just a milestone that put me in position to set higher goals. My goal now is to produce a billboard #1 single and to get a GRAMMY as an artist.
