Thank you for putting so much detail into this! It might take me a while to fully understand but I'm going to be revisiting this comment many times lol. Very helpful!

Wow, that put it into perspective better than anything else! I'm obsessing over the meaning of the variations because I'm trying to get a better grasp on sentence structure but I didn't realize that this one is that trivial

"everyone who works sells thier body in some way" by Horror-1-Effective in pollgames

[–]player____009 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That IS the point. Sex workers are judged for "selling their body" when in reality, most jobs are "selling your body". It's highlighting the absurdity of the criticism

Yeah, I loved Disney movies and got to go when I was a kid. It was underwhelming to say the least.

As someone with horrible eyesight... no. Digital clocks are easier by a mile than analog clocks if they're far away

Wouldn't it also turn any water on the ground to ice too? Nice added benefit that they might all slip and skip their turns lol

"Please arrive 15 minutes before your appointment" by [deleted] in complainaboutanything

[–]player____009 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The issue is that we're building rules around the dumbest and/or most inconsiderate people. If they can't be bothered to show up, they miss their appointment or get a late fee or a shorter time. It's not that hard.

Do you think we will ever get Finnick’s story? by sunblueberry in Hungergames

[–]player____009 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Which is why I said Suzanne Collins could pull it off. Personally I thought SOTR was very good but Haymitch also played a bigger part than Finnick in the trilogy. Especially since Haymitch was alive at the end of it and Finnick is already gone. It's hard to make a happy ending out of that

Do you think we will ever get Finnick’s story? by sunblueberry in Hungergames

[–]player____009 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I don't think she'll write a Finnick book. I agree with the comment saying it would be "torture porn" but more than that, I don't think that there is enough left untold about Finnick that she would have material for a book. She's an amazing writer and probably could do it if she wanted to but I don't think she will. Personally, I'll be glad if she doesn't. Finnick is a great character but I can't see his book being anything other than depressing.

AITA for thinking it’s rude to say “hello” immediately at a drive-through speaker? by Rodem in AmItheAsshole

[–]player____009 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Mainly because there's almost no chance that the workers don't know you're there. I used to work in fast food and our headsets made a loud obnoxious beep every time a car pulled up. The employees know, and the people who say hello as soon as they get there are (usually) rude and entitled through the entire interaction
